The disappearance of famous pilot Amelia Earhart along with her co-pilot Fred Noonan in 1937 remains one of the biggest aviation mysteries inThe disappearance of famous pilot Amelia Earhart along with her co-pilot Fred Noonan in 1937 remains one of the biggest aviation mysteries in history. What did happen to this pioneer aviator? Did her plane crash into the ocean or did she get captured by the Japanese? With the help of someone from the Unsolved Mystery Club you travel through time; learning about Amelia Earhart and hopefully gather enough clues to discover what did happen to her on that final journey.

Freeze Tag’s Unsolved Mystery Club certainly had the scope to rival Big Fish’s Mystery Case Files series. Unfortunately that did not happen but what we got were a couple of games that prove quite entertaining and also educational. The player must as explained above travel to different time zones to find clues among hidden object scenes. Three scenes can be visited at once and items will need to be used among three to uncover missing items belonging to both Earhart and Noonan. The player then must travel to specific conspiracy theory locations to find further items belonging to the pair. In between this players take control of some aviation mini-games where they are required to fly through rings (thankfully a little easier than what Superman has been required to do in video games). The most rewarding part of Amelia Earhart is having the opportunity to listen to sound clips and watch FMV clips of Earhart. She truly believed regardless of gender anybody with interest could do anything, very inspiring. There isn’t really anything wrong with the game other than it lacks depth and is quite short. Had the game contained more to it perhaps the game would have gained more attention.

The opportunity to explore if only briefly Earhart’s history while trying to find that definitive conclusion is hard to pass up. Even after the recent (at this time of writing) 2018 study that claims conclusive proof both Earhart and Noonan died on Gardner Island there is still those that dispute this is an accurate end to the mystery. While Unsolved Mystery Club: Amelia Earhart doesn’t provide closure it does provide a playable and educational look at someone who inspires women to this day.
