Mar 26, 2015Despite various shortcomings like lack of polish in combat, some disorientating segments set in three dimensions and a very short duration, it manages to maintain a satisfactory level of quality through its unique world, beautiful, artistic design and pure enjoyment. Woolfe - Red Hood Diaries is a "fair-y" game after all.
-
Mar 22, 2015A quick, yet enjoyable 2.5D action platformer that's worth the price of admission.
-
Apr 6, 2015Woolfe The Red Hood Diaries is a twisted gothic fairy tale that at times is held back by its mediocre gaming mechanics.
-
Mar 27, 2015Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries is a short, yet enjoyable platformer, offering little difficulty, but tons of story, which lets you immerse yourself into the grittier side of fairy tales.
-
Feb 9, 2015Divided in two volumes, the GRIN Studio’s game aims high in its mix of platforms, puzzles and hack 'n slash.
-
Apr 7, 2015Woolfe - The Red Hood Diaries is an atmospheric, stylish take to a classic fairy tale, but it's also too short and unpolished to fulfill its great potential.
-
Apr 2, 2015Visually beautiful 2,5D-platformer that suffers from a very simple fighting system.
-
Apr 2, 2015Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries is enjoyable for its strong atmosphere and audio, but unfortunately some of the poor gameplay mechanics just kill the overall experience.
-
Apr 10, 2015Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries feels like squandered potential.
-
Apr 7, 2015There’s no nice way to say this- the combat in Woolfe is awful.
-
Mar 24, 2015It seems like an episodic game, but it isn't. Everything, from gameplay to narrative, feels like setting ground for something to come. Let's hope it does.
-
Jun 8, 2015Woolfe - The Red Hood Diaries looks like a rushed game that lacks of ambition. From the underdeveloped combat system to the hasty story, everything is a big disappointment.
-
May 6, 2015It would be a gamble to recommend it to most people, but for some who might find the concept intriguing and might find the elements I found frustrating simply a challenge, it might still be worth a look.
-
May 3, 2015There's just nothing that's especially worth singing the praises of either. [Issue#160, p.106]
-
CD-ActionApr 30, 2015Long time ago, in a land far, far away lived Belgians who had a cool idea for a game and a very talented lead artist, but not enough experience (and maybe also talent) to execute that idea properly. [05/2015, p.74]
-
Apr 8, 2015Woolfe paints a pretty picture, but the gameplay leaves much to be desired.
-
Mar 26, 2015Although its steampunk take on a nightmarish fairy tale is compelling, Woolfe: The Red Riding Hood fails to capitalize on its beautifully rendered environment.
-
May 29, 2015Woolfe - The Red Hood Diaries is a severely short game that doesn't provide either interesting or entertaining gameplay. With better platformer and action games available to players, this lackluster video game adaptation of the Red Riding Hood fairy tale should be avoided until it's either improved or expanded upon.
-
Apr 1, 2015Technically, it’s not particularly well made either. Beyond the poor collision detection and weird invisible walls, I encountered multiple bugs.
-
Apr 2, 2015The short length of the game doesn’t allow the story to get going properly, with the end coming just as things get interesting.
-
Mar 24, 2015Even for ten dollars, this is a sparse package, and lacks the polish and substance I expect from a finished product.
-
Mar 19, 2015Woolfe barely comes into its own before it's over, with the entire game taking about 2–3 hours tops. It's apparently only half of a two-part experience, but the halfway mark of the game doesn't show much promise for the second.
-
Jun 8, 2015Half a game at best and you can only hope this isn’t the good half.
