  1. If this series were to receive a significant upgrade – perhaps via the DW: Gundam sequel – it could finally move beyond its troubled past. For now, unfortunately, it is stuck in a dated, mechanically-challenged form that is all but impossible to enjoy.
  2. Hardcore Dynasty Warriors fans will probably get this title for the storyline alone. More casual fans of the series stay away!
  3. Even though you can climb higher than ever before in Dynasty Warriors 6, the series as a whole seems stuck on the same wrung.

Dynasty Warriors 6 isn't necessarily broken, but the fundamental formulas that govern the gameplay are terribly stale.

I can understand why people dont like this game very much, but I love it, its honestly my favorite game ever! It's super fun and enjoyable,I can understand why people dont like this game very much, but I love it, its honestly my favorite game ever! It's super fun and enjoyable, I've restarted and replayed the whole game a couple times (because 1. my game got corrupted so I had to restart 2. I was using a new ps3 due to my old one breaking 3. My dad sold our ps3 4. I love it so much etc) and I didnt get bored of it. I'd go right from the beginning with nothing, to unlocking and leveling up all my characters, getting all the king horses etc. I would play it right now but my ps3 is broken, the game is not on ps4 and I cant buy another ps3 because there are not many and they are not worth it because they will probably break soon. I have the other later dynasty warriors games, but they are just not the same. The only things I personally dont like about dynasty warriors 6 or think would have made the it much better is the officers, the voice actors for them and the amount of characters you were able to play musou mode with. Firstly all of the generic officers are basically the same and it just makes the story a bit less, natural. Let's talk about characters like Xun yu or Chen gong. They are important characters but they look exactly like all the other simple officers, even their voices are the same, and I'm not saying only they should be changed, their just an example. I think if all the officers had unique weapons, costumes and voices, it would have made the game a lot better for me. I also think that if every character had a musou mode it would have been really good too. There are tons of other things I would have liked to talk about in this comment, but I think this is long enough and I've covered a lot of what I wanted to. I know there is probably no one that is going to read this whole thing through but if you did thank you so much. I think that is it from me. In conclusion I think this is a really great game, had some minor issues to me but all in all amazing game that I've been playing sinceI was a child, dynasty warriors 6. Full Review »

Existing fans will enjoy it I suppose but everyone else should steer well clear.

The sight range is pitifully short for units, not to mention that the game can't show more than twenty some guys on screen at a time, so guys will pop in and out of sight. Although if they aren't visible, the game engine thinks they aren't even there, so they really pop in and out of existance. I guess the game does this in an attempt to run smoothly. Too bad that it still fails to do so. Slowdown occurs fairly regularly. Playing two player, the slowdown is near constant, and makes the game nigh unplayable. Even more fun is that the character limit counts both screens, so player 1 will see 17 guys, and player 2 will see 3, even if they are looking at the same pack of enemies. One player will be beating on a boss that the other can't see or touch.
If you can see past these issues, the game is pretty fun. I just hate when companies put out games that don't run smoothly. Gameplay should never be sacrificed for graphics.
