Truly a title that has captured all the great aspects of multiple genres. Along with beautiful graphics and extremely deep gameplay mechanics, Front Mission 4 also has a very captivating storyline that keeps you fairly involved with the development of the pilots throughout the game. [JPN Import]
-
netjak"Where's the Capture function?!" In FM3, that was an awesome attack. You'd pop the enemy pilot of out his wanzer, and you could kill him and take the wanzer, or if you wanted to fight honorably, you'd hop out of your wanzer, and engage in a man to man fight. In FM4, no such luck. [JPN Import]
-
For anyone with even a remote interest in turn-based strategy games on a console, from expert tacticians to the casually curious, Front Mission 4 is a great game of explosive wanzer combat.
-
The upgrades seem to number in the hundreds and require you to navigate multitudes of menus. Whether you look at this as challenging or soul-crushing should give you an idea of whether you should buy the game.
-
Combine the mediocre gameplay with the sub-par graphics and campy story, and you can begin to see why Front Mission 4 is a bit of a disappointment. [June 2004, p.127]
-
games(TM)The percentage of actual game in Front Mission 4 is the best piece of mech strategy that you will play on the PS2. If only it was built just as a game and not to tell a story mimed by blathering idiots, wed be looking at something very special indeed. [Sept 2004, p.108]
-
Cheat Code CentralNot only is the AI predictable, but the storyline is so linear that it's just an excuse to connect one mission to the next.

HezzMar 28, 2004FM3 was sublime, FM4 will be just as good or better. And is there really no 'capture' option?
