As much of a surprise as it may be, Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom is definitely an enjoyable game to play when you need to take a break from all of the shooters and action games that are out there. For $10, you get three entertaining modes that offer quite a bit of content that will take you a while to get through.
-
For PS3-owning mahjong fans, there’s enough to like, despite the poor multiplayer options.
-
At this point, making a decent Mahjong game should be a cakewalk, but Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom's lame control scheme, poor sound quality, and lackluster visuals prove that the world of mahjong videogames still has a long way to go.
-
Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom is a boring, and uninspired take on classic Mahjong Solitaire, and it's definitely not something I suggest to people looking for something on the PSN.
-
For a mildly cerebral experience it’s probably up there with the PSN’s other puzzle titles. It is overpriced, however, and the score reflects that.
-
If the control scheme was a better, we'd call Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom a great time-waster for the PS3. But the lack of polish on this boring $10 PlayStation Network game makes us want to call it a waste of time instead.
-
To say that Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom is overpriced at $10 would be a bit of an understatement. To be honest I had a hard enough time dragging myself to play the game for free.
