Sly Cooper may not be as popular as Jak and Ratchet, but his PlayStation 3 trilogy is the perfect candidate for an HD makeover. The Sly Collection packages three of Sony's very best 3D platformers into one budget title. Throw in trophies and move support and you have a must-own collection for anybody who loves a good crime caper!

Unless you are one of those gamers who's stuck in a single genre, not willing to play anything outside your comfort zone, the Sly Collection is easily a 'must have' for your library.

The three games of the pack are an incredible journey through Sucker Punch evolution, and a great examples of gameplay and level design that stand the test time, still fun and enjoyable today.

It helps that the graphics have been revamped, and they bloom into widescreen HD. It's a given that they look better than the PS2 originals, but even more importantly they don't betray your memory of how good they looked. [February 2011 p 78]

A great excuse to play again three games that may not be as known as Ratchet & Clank or Jax & Daxter, but that are as good as those.

Too much of a good thing doesn't seem to apply to the Sly Cooper Collection. I went through all three games back-to-back and it just left me wanting to get hold of another Sly game rather than stick the collection on the shelf and forget about the series.

The minigame collection is really only a diversion, but is a nice bonus for those that own a Move controller.

As a package, The Sly Collection offers a tremendous value and highly recommended. For nostalgic fans who have long despaired for the fourth game, this is the best way to pass the message that you want more.

The Sly Trilogy is a flawless compendium of one of the best action-platform series in PS2 history, with improved visuals and additional 3D and Move features.

The Sly Trilogy is worth a punt whether you played the originals or not. It still plays fantastically, and now looks gorgeous too. Prepare yourself for the upcoming fourth release, and grab a copy of this 2000's legacy.

The Sly Collection has something to offer for fans or newcomers to the series. With no new game since 2005 and nothing (yet) on PS3, this package is a great chance to revisit a really good series of games. The presentation values hold up even today. This is fantastic value for dollar. Well done.

Beyond the HD refresh, you can play all three games in 3D if you've got the right kind of telly; it's a decent stab at giving the games extra depth without going overboard, although you can't turn on the 3D until the game gets started, which is a bit clunky.

As a collection, this is both a great deal and a much-deserved reintroduction to a fantastic set of seemingly forgotten games. If you've never experienced the Sly world before, this is the best possible way to see and play it - all in one place with copious Trophies for each title.

A great remastering marred but a few technical issues and oversights, and an awful mini-game collection. If you haven't played these games to death already, you owe it to yourself to see what you missed out on in the last generation.

Should you buy The Sly Collection? Yes, absolutely. Even if you've already played all three games (and I've found that most people seem to have played one of the games and missed the other two), this is a series worth revisiting.

The Sly Trilogy feels surprisingly fresh, even though the games are from the PlayStation 2- era. For three games for less than the price of one, there's no excuse to let this collection of great games pass.

Those who have the original games won't find many new features, but for people who don't know the series, it offers a lot of value with three game which gameplay hasn't aged.

Though some cutscenes still use their original assets, making for grainy, pixelated graphics and distorted sound, and you can't switch between series games without completely exiting from the disc, The Sly Collection continues to exhibit why good, older generation titles do well to bundle together in quality remastered editions.

There aren't many reasons not to play The Sly Collection, barring a bitter hatred of all things platforming. For three excellent platformers, The Sly Collection is truly a great deal.

Consistently underrated at the time this masterful mix of influences makes hardly a single mistake in all three games - and definitely deserves a fourth.

Indeed, this collection doesn't add a lot of significant stuff, the mini-games aren't all that interesting. But without a doubt, for fans of platformers who didn't get a chance to sink their teeth into the episodes of this incredible franchise, it's a golden opportunity to play 3 great games who didn't age a bit, except maybe the original.

Well, it's just the first three adventures of Sly, but in HD. Nothing new or exciting is implemented, but it's Sly quality nevertheless.

A bargain of a collection, but with some flaws like a non-cooperative camera and some dated graphics.
  46. Jan 3, 2011

Despite the first game feeling a bit old, the second and third game of The Sly Collection are great. The graphics and controls feels surprisingly good and the games are longlasting. Sadly, some problems from the old games remains and the Playstation-Move support within the game is really just a gimmick and doesn't add anything to the experience.

The Sly Collection is another great reason to own a ps3. Full Review »

However, there is one weak link, in Sly 1 the cutscenes still use the old charachter model, unlike in the gameplay, it is also in my opinion, the worst in an exceptional serise. the mini games are fun and Sly 2+3 are wonderful to play, especially Sly 2. and even if I don't have a 3D tv, I can tell you this game deserves your hard earned cash. and the minigames can be played with a dualshock as well, so there.
