Bugsnax leans heavily on the unique nature of its titular creatures, and it succeeds by doing so. They’re cute, they’re creepy, and their existence makes no logical sense whatsoever. Armed with a bit of design this indelible, the developers could have phoned in the rest and raked in the merchandising money. Instead, they fully committed to delivering a narrative worthy of the creatures starring in it. It was a risky choice, but it was also a daring and clever one, and that’s exactly what it wants to be.
Finding and collecting the many Bugsnax is as much fun as discovering the island and immersing yourself in the lives of the Grumpuses. The result is a humorous and entertaining adventure that will keep you interested until the end.

I haven't had this much fun on a game in a long time. I got the platinum trophy on my ps5. Than on the ps4 edition. And I still want to play again. A nice calm relaxing game, with a great story, amazing for people who want to relax after a days work. I really hope there will be a sequel.

This game made me feel like I was a child again. It is so rare nowadays that a game is good enough to get me to keep playing until I reach the ending. I would compare this game to Spongebob. This is because there are many weird jokes that older people would understand, but also keeps the youngins' entertained. Just play the game.

Whether it’s the super-catchy theme song, the nostalgia-evoking gameplay, or simply the very basic fun of hunting new Snax to transform the Grumpuses, Bugsnax is a game that is well worth your time. Its simple yet addictive challenge of catching the cute yet strange creatures coupled with some wholesome storytelling delivers a well-rounded and fun adventure.
There may be a lot of games you want to try on the new PS5 console, but if you're looking for a palate cleanser between the bigger, flashier games, Bugsnax is the perfect aperitif to your next-gen feast.
In Bugsnax, the bugs are snacks and that's quite cool. Beyond that, its relaxing open-world objective-based gameplay is solid for winding down with after a long day but it doesn't really have much else going for it.
Bugsnax is memorable for its writing, world, and creative premise, but its more gamified elements somewhat spoil a delicious meal. Bugsnax isn't the best version of the game it could have been, but it's still a really fun adventure.
As cute and clever as its creatures are, the puzzles just aren't deep or interesting enough. Still, I don't dislike Bugsnax.
Best kid-looking game in gaming industry right now.

Loaded up this game not expecting much, A fun game for the little ones. Lots of bright fun characters and puzzles to solve. I feel it would be good to teach your kids the basics of gaming (controls could be easier) . I imagine younger children would find it pretty enjoyable. In my opinion it could be improved with the messages being read out as well, to assist smaller children with their reading skills. Maybe have the messages in bigger writing with the words being highlighted as they are said. Original game so I've given it a 4 because it isn't a carbon copy. Doesn't really take advantage of the ps4/5 power. Looks more like a ps1 gane

Certainly unique, but absolutely RIDDLED with bugs and glitches, even months after launch. Expect to see NPCs suddenly "vanish" and need to repeat certain side-quests. Also disappointing to see the world split up into TINY 'levels' which long loading times between each - not what I'd expect from a PS5 game.
