Androids, who look exactly like human beings, have replaced humans in most tasks: they are workers, babysitters, gardeners, nurses, teachers, clerks. The story of Detroit starts with an unexplained incident that begins to affect the Androids. Some disappear without any explanation, others have unexpected behaviors and strangely show signs of emotions. The rumors of “deviant” androids start spreading, but no one seems to know what’s really happening... [Quantic Dream] Expand

Quantic Dream surpasses everything it has done before with Detroit: Become Human. A huge script allows for a thrilling story to have multiple layers that, at the same time, deal with topics such as slavery, the human condition or the concept of identity. A real masterpiece of the genre.

[Detroit: Become Human] is a social revolution simulator, where most of your choices actually matter, the story and characters are engaging and moving and the amount of narrative content is incredibly massive.

What makes Detroit: Become Human a great game, though, is that even after going back through alternate narrative branches and winding down my play time, I’m still invested. The world that Quantic Dream gave me to explore is only a short leap from the one we’re living in now, and the ideas presented have left me contemplating the role AI could play in our lives sooner rather than later.

Detroit: Become Human is a testament to how far the genre of interactive narrative storytelling has come and, at the same time, how much further it can go. While it might still suffer from some annoying QTE moments and a few narrative speedbumps, it delivers on promises that many other games in this genre make yet fail to keep, especially in how the choices you make can lead to very different experiences down the line.

If you want to experience an incredibly atmospheric dystopia from three gripping, strongly influenced angles, then this is the place to be.

The game is a technological marvel but although David Cage’s storytelling has an ideal pace and the way the story branches out depending on your choices is praiseworthy, his writing is childishly naïve. His vision of Detroit is unconvincing from the ground up and all his characters are merely crude, threadbare archetypes, which made it impossible for me to suspend disbelief. What’s more, the game touches a sensitive problem of discrimination but doesn’t have the courage to take any stand, leaving us with a lukewarm tale about robots, told with clichés and truisms. Detroit: Become Human wants to move you. It wants to elicit an emotional response through its story. The thing is, it really doesn't. The flowchart is a nice inclusion and adds some variance, but when the narrative is as cringey and ham-fisted as it is you won't want to play through it multiple times.

Ignore the hate-reviews with a personal agenda against David Cage, there is no way in h*ll that this game is a 4/10. Not even Mighty Number 9Ignore the hate-reviews with a personal agenda against David Cage, there is no way in h*ll that this game is a 4/10. Not even Mighty Number 9 is a 4/10 lol. The story and writing in Detroit is good enough for a game (I loved it personally) and probably better than the story in 95% of all other games ever released, there are loads breathtaking situations and choices, probably the best graphics ever made (imagine the work that went into this), amazing music... This game would have a 85-88/100 MC score if it was reviewed fairly for what it is. Give it a chance and enjoy it with your family and friends, you will have a blast! Trust me. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I came into the game thinking that it would all be ok even on expert mode.I loved the introduction to Connor his mission is challenging, and extremely dark because all endings have someone die I experienced all of them before I could save the kid. But I also love that if you try hard enough (not really) you can get so incredibly close with Lt.Anderson and learn so much because of him and being able to become a Deviant because of your relationship with him saving the Lt. Is totally worth it but you can die saving him.
Kara's story is more about knowing what to do and who to trust. I loved most of the good characters that Kara meets, Luthor Is such an amazing person and is so kind, and Alice while being picky was ok,I loved Rosa and how much she sacrifices. the theme park was one of the most beautiful parts of the story alongside Connors confrontation with Hank near the bridge ,and Markus' infamous painting secene or the death of his dad.
Markus' story was about choosing light or darkness, his companions show each side North Darkness,Josh Light, and Simon Neutral.
Peaceful is the best way to end things,in the almost perfect end Connor confronts the other Connor model and Hank saves him Connor after returning to Markus is being taken over while Markus gives his speech,I wasn't able to save them,My ending for Kara endied with Luthor AND Alice Dead and I decided to keep living as Kara. And once the final cutcene started playing I was already on the floor crying at 3:00 in the morning and stayed that way for at least twenty minutes. In conclusion I would totally recommend this game and it's so close to perfect it is.

If youDetroit: Become Human's plot is not the most unique, but it tells it in such an interesting way that it is hard not to become invested. If you are looking for a game with amazing gameplay, this is not it. You do not play this game for the gameplay, you play it for the story and the characters. The three protagonists; Connor, Kara, and Markus are all very interesting and have great stories. Some of the games greatest strengths are how well it fleshes out the story of its world, Detroit, and how it presents the city. The presentation of this game is on another level. The cinematography, the graphics and facial detail on all the character models are some of the best in gaming. Where the game really shines though is in its choices and branching storylines. The game has an enormous range of choices and outcomes, meaning you will most likely have a very different experience from other players. There are multiple endings, you can save all the characters, let them all die, or any combination in between. Its greatest weakness is in some of its endings. Odds are if you get one of the bad endings, you will not be satisfied with it. But thats okay, because the game is designed for you to replay it and make different choices to see how things could have played out differently. If you achieve one of the good endings, the story is much more rewarding and satisfying. In the end, if you come into the game expecting an immersive character driven story with fantastic presentation and player choice, you will be blown away. Expand

The intriguing story line, the 99 endings that let us practically to an infinite game play , one of the most epics musics( like the first one when the game starts) and great graphics make this game AWESOME in my opinion. Even all, the game have some problems with bugs that didn't let me review it with 10 stars.
