Androids, who look exactly like human beings, have replaced humans in most tasks: they are workers, babysitters, gardeners, nurses, teachers, clerks. The story of Detroit starts with an unexplained incident that begins to affect the Androids. Some disappear without any explanation, others have unexpected behaviors and strangely show signs of emotions. The rumors of “deviant” androids start spreading, but no one seems to know what’s really happening... [Quantic Dream] Expand

Quantic Dream surpasses everything it has done before with Detroit: Become Human. A huge script allows for a thrilling story to have multiple layers that, at the same time, deal with topics such as slavery, the human condition or the concept of identity. A real masterpiece of the genre.

Though it comes off as heavy-handed at times, Detroit tells an endearing story that verges on the profound, diving deep into the nature of humanity itself. It proves that interactivity and focused storytelling aren’t mutually exclusive and that the two can enhance each other given a proper degree of talent behind the scenes.

Detroit Become Human is a game so ambitious that it can be considered brave to put the player in deeply emotional situations. It's not forgiving, and the choices are so many that you won't be free from sacrifice and pain. In a modern scene full of multiplayer stuff, going back to narrative is something we can appreciate.

Detroit: Become Human is a testament to how far the genre of interactive narrative storytelling has come and, at the same time, how much further it can go. While it might still suffer from some annoying QTE moments and a few narrative speedbumps, it delivers on promises that many other games in this genre make yet fail to keep, especially in how the choices you make can lead to very different experiences down the line.

Detroit: Become Human is a bit too ambitious for its own good. It is not a game-breaking problem, but it does make moments that were set up to be huge a bit disappointing. If you take it slow and give your brain enough time to think it all through, there is definitely a lot to take away from Detroit: Become Human.

Learning the story of Kara, Connor and Markus in Detroit: Become Human was a pleasant and engaging affair. I really grew fond of the heroes and I pondered over every decision. Quantic Dream's new game is a really good interactive movie, and the degree of non-linearity is amazing. It's a pity that the story itself is totally bland, obvious and downright disappointing; the characters are flat and cliché, and the game doesn't deliver any meaningful message - it's almost baffling how the authors could have missed such an opportunity to make a statement.

Detroit: Become Human wants to move you. It wants to elicit an emotional response through its story. The thing is, it really doesn't. The flowchart is a nice inclusion and adds some variance, but when the narrative is as cringey and ham-fisted as it is you won't want to play through it multiple times.

Unlike lots of games which try to do the same thing, in Detroit your choices actually matter. Your choices can be the difference between life and death, failing and succeeding, even the ones that, at the time, have seemingly no significance. You may choose to go one way instead of the other and end up regretting it severely later down the line, but no matter what choices you make, the game manages to stay enjoyable throughout. If you don't like a decision you made, you can stick with it... or you can go back and re-do it completely to give you the outcome you desire.

I have played through Detroit and watched two streamers play through it, all resulting with different outcomes and each three of those outcomes has left me absolutely astonished or heart-broken.

The music, which has three different composers for the three main characters, is absolutely phenomenal, matching not only the individual situation, but the characters and their personalities completely. The creators of this game and of the musical score really know how to make you feel as if you are in the characters shoes, and that is something that is hard to do but they pulled it off excellently.

Detroit: Become Human is definitely one of my all time favorite games, and I hope that its creators come out with more amazing stuff in the future, especially if it is based in the same world as Detroit. But even if it isn't, if it makes me feel the way Detroit made me feel, it will definitely be a success.

Ignore the hate-reviews with a personal agenda against David Cage, there is no way in h*ll that this game is a 4/10. Not even Mighty Number 9Ignore the hate-reviews with a personal agenda against David Cage, there is no way in h*ll that this game is a 4/10. Not even Mighty Number 9 is a 4/10 lol. The story and writing in Detroit is good enough for a game (I loved it personally) and probably better than the story in 95% of all other games ever released, there are loads breathtaking situations and choices, probably the best graphics ever made (imagine the work that went into this), amazing music... This game would have a 85-88/100 MC score if it was reviewed fairly for what it is. Give it a chance and enjoy it with your family and friends, you will have a blast! Trust me. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The atmosphere and characters in this game are so amazing! Love the story so much. I completed the game twice and there are still so many other ways to go, I can‘t wait to play all the possible scenes (even though I got pretty good endings already, so it might hurt to see how the rest turns out). Connor and Hank are my absolute favorite characters, their friendship is so precious to me Expand

Technically its a masterpiece, maybe the best graphics I've ever seen on a game. The animations are well done, perfect voice acting, great bso... and of course the most important thing about this title... Choices REALLY MATTER all time. There's a lot of small choices that must be taken in a very short period of time (like 3-4 seconds) that matters a lot so you have almost no time to think about the consequences, that's the strongest point of the game imo.

Duration is fine and story its so good, specially the Connor-Anderson parts.

I'mIf you really want a game that is about feelings, this is the game. Watched the trailer in 2015 and I knew that I have to own this game. I'm absolutely blown away by how the plot works and it is very relatable to life and how we, as human, decide some life choices that will affect other people's feeling. Plus there are so many endings that you can have from your choices, and you can play it with friends and loved ones (while observing what kind of person they are based on their choices haha). Visuals and theme songs are also beautiful. Bravo, Quantic Dream! Expand
