The Devil May Cry trilogy is undoubtedly an older collection of games that can feel dated at times, but without considering the graphics, it often feels just as modern as a game that came out last Tuesday.

One of the most lackadaisical remasters that I’ve ever played.

The HD Collection offers nothing new and looks technically out of date. Only suitable for those who want to catch up on Dante's first performances.

Devil May Cry HD Collection is a straight porting of the collection released in 2012 on PS3 and Xbox 360. Textures and assets are pretty much the same and there is no brand new content added to this new release. This game is a lazy remaster that delivers 1080p resolution and a 60fps rock solid gameplay, but nothing more. It represents a missed opportunity by Capcom, bearing in mind the impressive remasters we are seeing these days.

Devil May Cry HD Collection is the same game proposed in 2012. Nothing has been changed, especially the flaws.

All in all, Devil May Cry HD Collection the second go around is an unacceptable product, which feels like a waste of money.

And that, in a nutshell, is the perfect descriptor for Devil May Cry HD Collection: torture. I don’t know what your memories may be telling you about these games from 10-15 years ago, but I can tell you that if you play them now, it’s likely to leave you wondering how they could have become so beloved in the first place. If you have fond memories, keep them there, rather than allowing them to become sullied by this hideous abomination.

As far as a remaster goes its okay. 3 is definitely the highlight. There really isn't much of a story to miss out on until then. Dmc 2 was only good for making your fingers cramp. Its for sure the ugly step child of the series. Dmc 1 was tough as hell . It had a really great atmosphere. Music gets your heart pumping. Id recommend the HD remaster for any body interested in the devil may cry universe, but its undoubtedly showing its age at this point . Expand

The graphics have barely changed, and in some places are worse. This is more of a port than a remaster.

On a side note I do hope they eschew the punishing combo system in future iterations.

Avoid. Stick to the PS2 versions.
