Be a gravity ninja as you battle your friends inside old storybooks. Run up walls and on ceilings, and then invert your gravity for a surprise attack. It's chaotic yet strategic. Sometimes, it's madness. Sometimes, it's a cat-and-mouse game. You'll laugh. You'll swear at your friends. You'll want to play another round. In Paperbound, you play as stick men and other characters who come to life via magic dust. Inside Journey to the Center of the Earth, you discover the ability to have your gravity adapt to any curved surface as you run along it. What better way to test this newfound ability than combat? As it stands, the game is a must-own if you have a consistent group of 3-4 players.

If you’re looking for a new local multiplayer game for you and your friends, then Paperbound might just be the right one, with its fresh take on the genre and brilliantly inspired aesthetic.

Paperbound is a riot, and a ton of fun to play with a group of people.

Paperbound isn't all that exciting even for hardcore arena veterans, but the foundation is there for a fast-paced frag-fest. The developers employed a half-measure when it comes to aesthetics and content, but there's plenty of fun to be had once you start flipping out and making gravity your bitch.

Paperbound is an incredibly fun game that gives a gravitational spin on the same kind of competitive insanity that inspires Smash Bros. or Towerfall. Its amazingly simple aesthetics work well, and the simple nature of the game means anybody can pick it up and have a crack at it.

The idea is good, but because of its lack of content and its repetitive nature, the novelty wears off quite soon.

For a party game, it’s a fun, frantic time for about 30 minutes every once in a while, but this will still just be a game you’ll want to boot up when people are around.

There are over 14 characters to choose from, tons of stages, and over 6 game modes. For once, a local multiplayer indie game lets you play against friends with or without the addition of bots. Paperbound is on sale for $7.99 this week. If you liked Towerfall Ascension's gameplay Paperbound will feel right at home. My only complaints are that the stages feel too big for 1v1 matches and the characters only differ for aesthetic reasons. Still, this game is worth it and deserves your purchase. Expand

There are a fair amount of different characters that don't really matter much except for their size as everyone does the same thing. Where this game is great, is how quickly the matches are and how responsive all the controls are and switching your gravity mid-jump can make for some very fun and crazy movement. Expand
