    Though the game does have its shortfalls, like a lackluster tutorial zone and some infuriating boss mechanics, Undertale is undoubtedly a real stroke of genius. The game plays around with conventions and tropes normally associated with RPGs and subverts them in clever ways, all while telling a deeply personal story that everyone can relate to at some point in their lives. Undertale is a game that makes the player feel and think. It’s a game that fills the player with determination, and is most certainly one that you should play.

    Undertale is a clever and charming masterpiece, through and through...No game is perfect, but a very rare handful are special, exceptional examples of the best there is to offer, and Undertale stands proudly beside them.

    Nearly two years have passed since Undertale originally released, and it still manages to be an incredibly fresh experience. Every battle is a unique puzzle that the player has to solve, and it’s impossible to count how many times I laughed at the bad jokes of Sans. I’ll never see all that the game has to offer, but that’s okay. I’d rather make friends than destroy them.

    What I'd forgotten since first experiencing the game back in 2015 was that Undertale is more than just internet jokes, amazing music, and crazy boss battles — it's a heartwarming, beautiful, and tearful romp. I said at the beginning there was nothing like Undertale at the time, and there still is nothing else like it. It's hard to explain what makes Undertale so special without spoiling a lot of it, but all you need to know is that this is a modern classic at its most accessible, and it's worthy of your time, whether you're new to the game or returning for another adventure. This review should fill you with determination to play Undertale.

    You wouldn't know it with a passing glance, but it's one of the most progressive and innovative RPGs to come in a long time, breaking down tradition for the sake of invention, with great success.

    Despite the fact that Undertale didn't tick all my boxes, it was still an enjoyable game. Its visuals and music brought to mind some of my most cherished memories from my formative years, and are top-notch even for games that try to evoke that retro vibe. Its narrative is tongue-in-cheek and consistantly sends surprises the player's way. The game excels at asking players to enjoy it in ways that are incongruous with the traditional way RPGs are designed. Unfortunately, those looking for a more traditional experience may feel short-changed here. The lion's share of the game's character, lore, and emotional impact is experienced by challenging yourself to play the entire game in a completely different fashion.

    Undertale is a Fantastic Indie game and it's worth it on PS4 and Vita as much as it was on the PC! there's not many differences from the Original version aside from Illustration Boarders and Japanese Language option, but if you never played Undertale, i Highly Recommend it!

    This is one of many amazing Indie Experiences you will ever try it out and i'm glad Playstation fans will be able to try it out    … Expand

The songs are extremely catchy and good. I am not the biggest fan of turnbased combat, but undertale's combat is so different and fun.
    The fandom is cancer...

    En mi opinion Undertale es una obra maestra de los videojuegos, mecanicamente es bastante secillo pero funcional y divertido, su soundtrack esEn mi opinion Undertale es una obra maestra de los videojuegos, mecanicamente es bastante secillo pero funcional y divertido, su soundtrack es jodidamente espectacular y su narrativa me parece una mezcla perfecta entre lo oscuro y lo infantil a la misma vez con gráficos bastante minimalistas pero expresivos a su manera, todo esto pensado y orquestado principalmente por una persona TOBYFOX quien en varias ocasiones durante el título rompe la cuarta pared de formas muy inesperadas por lo que tiene un alto mèrito de ser un videojuego épico. Sin embargo el juego vende por ser considerado un RPG lo cual derechamente no es, no hay estrategias, razas, turnos o modalidades de combate en las que tengas que considerar una cantidad amplia de variables para vencer, solo mantiene de este género la opción de equipar objetos e items para potenciar a nuestro personaje, mas bien, Undertale parece una especie de novela visual llena de diálogos mezcladas con arcade (lo que vendría siendo el combate). En síntesis, es un juego bastante bueno, uno de los mejores que he jugado, pero no es un RPG, además de que el fandom es intragable, en fin, le doy un 9, solo cambiaría lo del RPG y añadiría algo mas de exploracion de mapas.… Expand

I can only assume that the PS4 gamers more overwhelmingly look for a streamlined, "exciting" entertainment experience and don't have any appetite to reflect upon the actual contents/story of the game, which is a real shame. Also they might be less used to indie games/games with retro graphics. I don't think anybody who rated the game badly actually even understood what the game is about. They probably just stormed through the game killing everybody they see on sight... exactly the thing the game is making a point about. This game is a meta comment on the state of today's gaming culture. Sadly the ratings here seem to exactly prove why the author wanted to make such a comment in the first place... If somebody played through the story and yet isn't in the least bit moved by it, I can't imagine what kind of person he/she must be in real life... Just horrible. If you at least have some heart then play it and you won't regret it in the slightest. The alternative perspective it provides is incredibly refreshing and touching, though you might not necessarily agree with it. If you only look for the thrills of killing some enemy and never look at the story (which to be fair many modern games just don't give a f*** about), then don't complain after playing it or come here to leave bad ratings.… Expand

The pieces are all there, lovely music, aesthetic, quirkiness, combat system but it all falls short in such a short length game. It doesn't have enough time to flesh out things that could have made it great. Itemization shows promise then falls short, exploration seems enticing at first but is very rarely rewarding. Dialogue seems to have great potential, then gets old. The combat system is really cool, and then doesn't quite add enough new to keep it fresh and exciting. The enemies are unique but ultimately not quite enough are introduced by the end. The only aspect that stays consistently awesome is the music. All the other elements would have you believe at first that this game is the magnificent gem reviewers are raving about, but ultimately are not fleshed out to warrant more than an average score.… Expand

The characters are annoying and their jokes make me facepalm because they are so stupid!

      The graphics are very ugly. I've never really cared about graphics, but to say they're bad is a compliment; they are horrible!
    But I ignored it at first, because from the comments I saw in the community the rest of the game seemed to be incredible, but it's all the same crap.

    I'm going to give it a 0 because that's what it deserves. If this thing becomes a trend in the gaming industry we all will be ****    … Expand
