If you’ve ever wished you could get that acceptance letter to Hogwarts – or even if you want a fun fantasy game you can sink yourself into for hours and hours and hours – this is what you’ve always dreamed of. It’s hard to imagine another game topping this one in 2023.

Hogwarts Legacy is an extremely beautiful game that features a not-so-open world, full of life and places to explore. The fighting system is very original. The fighting system is very original and it is extremely deep, it allows you to perform some great combos, defend yourself in multiple ways and it is also quite fluid. It has a beautiful soundtrack and very good performances. Sometimes I feel that the game guides us too much and that it lacks a bit of challenge in its activities. Hogwarts Legacy is definitely the game we were promised and expected.

Hogwarts Legacy is the most definitively accurate and exciting wizarding world adventure people could hope to experience, short of getting a real-life invitation to Hogwarts. With hours of content and a wealth of wizarding wonderment, you’d be hard pressed not to enjoy yourself to an impressive capacity.

Hogwarts Legacy's wonderful world makes it one of those games that you'd just love to keep experiencing for the first time - forever - and we envy anyone who's yet to step into it. Even if it's just a regular, open-world game underneath all the magic, it truly is an excellent one.

Hogwarts Legacy is the best Harry Potter inspired video game ever made. Avalanche Software managed to capture the magic of the Wizarding World and built a relaxing and satisfying safe haven for every potterhead. It’s not all roses, many flaws from the open world formula are still present and it remains a cross-gen video game, but it manages to keep its core promise: to give life to Hogwarts itself. And this, in our book, it’s already a big win.

Hogwarts Legacy is definitely worth it for fans. The gaming experience mainly suffers from minor technical flaws as well as a certain tonal incoherence. However, if you can overlook this, you can expect a magical adventure with lots of attention to detail. The developers' enthusiasm for the magical world of Hogwarts shines through at every nook and cranny.

Hogwarts Legacy starts to feel like countless open-world games of the past decade once you’ve been playing it for more than 15 hours. However, you get to ride a Hippogriff. It’s those magical moments and the setting that rescue it from mediocrity, but only if the Wizarding World still has you under its spell.

The game manages to embody the feeling of the world of Harry Potter and do it in a way that feels distinct from the world we have already seen. The story is interesting and has enough to it that it keeps you engaged and there is enough to do that you can never claim to be bored and best of all, very little repetition of activities. Expand

Hogwarts has been recreated with love, overall the open world feels very detailed and magical. Different game mechanics and activities are just what you always wanted to do reading books/watching films. Music is amazing and helps immerse in Hogwarts, voice acting is very good, too. PS5 graphics (fidelity + ray tracing) are really nice, especially global lighting and changing of seasons.
Work with DualSense is really impressive, casting spells and riding a broom are my favorites
I rated this 9, because obviously there are some problems in release version, but which can be easily fixed by developers (I guess for similar reasons NON-Wizarding World fan would rate this game 3,5/7,5): -impossibility to sleep and very weird skip time mechanics (not immersive)
    - empty dormitories during nighttime, like all the students are gone (this is really cringe). Overall “sleep” problem in this game - outdated dialogue mechanics, lack of dialogue choices. It’s really strange to see characters entering dialogues in same way as in Mass Effect or Skyrim (this can’t be fixed I’m afraid and we’ll have to live with this)
    - different glitches with animals / npc, but that’s ok really, it happens everywhere, fixable with patches
    - most of the side quests are really weak, it’s a shame :( BUT, it’s fixable with additional content at some point and of course in amazing sequel we await. Lore is amazing and there are such amazing quests you could come up with, stories to be brought to life, but somehow maybe it was a time / budget issue for developers
    - why can’t you sit on a chair/bench in Hogwarts, just listen to music and look around, just watching students do their stuff. In stead you can even create multiple chairs you can’t sit on. Instead there are like 100500 geographical globes around the game which you can interact and “roll”.

The combat is also no better then the story, there is multiple bugs and the performance is near unacceptable the only way i can see anyone giving this game higher then a 6 is if they are a massive harry potter fan and are able to over look all the issues Expand
