After my first pass at Saga I’m still excited about the game and enjoying it and forsee many hours ahead of me in the Saga universe.

The game merits a very qualified recommendation, at least for those gamers that have the patience to deal with the growing pains one often sees with an MMO. These pains are exponentially worse here, due to it being an MMO in two relatively new genres, RTS and collectible.
Viewing the RTS element of the game in isolation, the overall tactical action is a bit bland despite the fact that the fantasy setting gives a nice variety to the troop types. Combine that with a poorly documented empire game and unsteady MMO architecture and it becomes even less appealing.
Summary SAGA is a persistent world RTS in an epic fantasy setting. Players collect troops, build armies, conquer new lands and build up kingdoms, complete with resource collection, city building and peasant management.
