Crysis Remastered on the Nintendo Switch would have sounded nearly unthinkable a few years ago, but here we are. Even though it's been thirteen years since the original release, the game still looks slick, marvelous and vivid. With its vast world, sharp gameplay mechanics and a very good performance both on a television screen and on the Nintendo Switch screen, Crysis Remastered is one of the finest FPS experiences in the console's catalogue.

Crysis Remastered is another good job made by Saber Interactive, an awesome port which retains all the good things we remembered from the PC version of Crysis.

The addition of gyro controls is just the cherry on top of an excellent job on the part of Saber Interactive. The gameplay here has aged surprisingly well, too, and rampaging across the sandbox of Lingshan taking out human and alien foes with your nano suit technology is just as much fun now as it was way back in 2007. Crysis is easily one very best shooters currently available on Switch.

Crysis: Remastered on the Nintendo Switch proves that the hybrid console can handle a top-tier shooter with ease.

In the end, it’s kind of telling that all the commentary around Crysis — and Crysis Remastered — focuses on the graphics. As shooters go, there are plenty of better options out there, regardless of what platform you’re playing it on. In terms of looks, though? On that front, this is still one heck of an achievement.

Crysis Remastered is an impressive showcase for the Nintendo Switch’s true capabilities when ports are given the love and attention they deserve. Graphical downgrade aside, this title plays, looks, and feels great. Besides some aging mechanics and a so-so story, the gameplay loop of fighting through strategic engagement to engagement is addictive and invigorating, even if that means you’ll have a better time ignoring the objectives to get to the next fight quicker.

Crysis Remastered on the Switch laughs at our old PCs that couldn’t run the original but still finds a few stumbling blocks all on its own.

Despite a few occasional drops in framerate and a few crashes, this port of Crysis on Nintendo Switch remains quite impressive.

The game looks gorgeous and runs so smooth!!! Soooo much vegetation without any noticeable pop-in that alone is extremely impressive. Several times I thought I was playing on a PS4 or Xbox One. The game itself is extremely fun and innovative. I am having a blast and totally recommend! Full Review »
