If spooky, cartoony, fun and charming action, full of puzzles and mystery is your cup of tea - drink no further! If you loved the first and second one, jump right in. If you didn't play those, go and play them, then jump right in. This is a perfectly balanced treat for any fan of the cutesy horror, that perhaps only Nintendo can deliver. An absolute joy of a game, you should not dare miss.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 is one of the best games I’ve played in years. I spent every moment of its campaign gaping in awe at set piece after set piece. Raging dinosaur skeletons, suites overrun with plants, a kaiju battle, and a towering pyramid in the sand are but a handful of the sights to take in while playing Luigi’s Mansion 3. I never thought that the original Luigi’s Mansion could be trumped, but Next Level Games has officially outdone Nintendo with this gorgeous, wonderful video game. Bravo.
  3. Nov 8, 2019
It’s clear that a lot of care, polish, and attention went into making it. It looks fantastic, it plays even better, and it’s simply a joy to play from beginning to end.
  4. Oct 28, 2019
You might not be going to Luigi’s Mansion 3 for Halloween frights but with so many inspired set-pieces, mechanics and secrets, this is the ghost-gusting adventure at its charming best. But this time Luigi deserves to share his limelight with his green gooey doppelganger.
  5. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a stunning, spooky adventure that puts its hero, and the game’s Canadian developer, firmly on the map. Mario may hog the spotlight, but this Christmas’s best Switch adventure belongs to his little brother.

At its core, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is lovely. The campaign is clearly crafted with care and is filled with personality. Each ally and enemy is detailed and expressive. Its challenges are never too demanding and the floors of the Last Resort are fun to explore alone or with a friend. ScareScraper can also be enjoyable, if you can get enough people to join you in tackling a tower. Really, ScreamPark is the only blemish in an otherwise delightful game.
  7. Dec 4, 2019
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Luigi’s latest adventure. The Nintendo Switch is already home to plenty of great games, but Luigi’s Mansion 3 falls under the “absolutely essential” category. If you own a Switch, you simply have to give this game a whirl.
  8. Nov 18, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is incredibly charming and the best evolution of the series to date. Every corner of the Last Resort Hotel has secrets and the gems can be incredibly difficult to find. If you're coming for the hilarious cutscenes, you'll stay to explore every floor of what this game has to offer.
  9. Oct 28, 2019
The interesting story, the huge hotel that we can explore, the mechanics of the Poltergust G-00, the perfect control scheme, the multiplayer options and the great graphic and sound section make Luigi's Mansion 3 an essential game for fans of exploration and adventure titles.
  10. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is the best game of the series and the best game of Next Level Games. A great addition to the Switch's library of exclusives.
  11. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi is back with one of the best games on Switch. An incredible adventure that plays great and also looks great. If you own a Switch, you cannot miss it.
  12. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi returns with an adventure in which most remarkable virtues hide behind his playable mechanics. Nintendo has managed again to create a game where what we do and the environments we travel through are with connected tightly. The game and the player meet in an experience the feeling of discovery is the greatest reward and, ultimately, puts Luigi's Mansion 3 onto the list of the best of Nintendo Switch greatest titles.
  13. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 brings Nintendo’s ghost hunting back to the highest. Next Level Games sign its best game so far and one of the names every Nintendo fan will not ever forget. The new gameplay mechanics and the rhythm goes in line with the balance of action, puzzle, platforming and exploration. The game is visually quite impressive; undoubtedly, the best graphics of the Nintendo’s library so far. A top notch experience that deserves every praise it receives. Excellent.
  14. Oct 28, 2019
Because of the design of a hotel with 15 very varied floors, this is the most versatile, surprising, beautiful and fun adventure so far.
  15. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is, without doubt, the best entry in the series. As simple as that. Levels are much more varied and visual astounding, a little delight that you can fully play alone or in coop mode, multiplayer modes aside. Its lovely sense of humor, the sympathy of the ghosts, and the 20+ hours to finish (more for the 100%) make the rest.
  16. Oct 28, 2019
This is a huge step up for a franchise that has always been enjoyable but never felt special. Well, Luigi's Mansion 3 is special.
  17. Oct 28, 2019
Funnier than ever, Luigi's Mansion 3 is a perfect comeback for the series and a worthy addition to anyone's Switch library.
  18. Jun 4, 2020
Luigi’s third solo adventure is the ultimate evolution of it’s formula. A game well designed to be fun either playing alone or with company. Also, it’s visuals and ambiance are incredible.

Despite some misgivings with the extras, the actual core Luigi's Mansion 3 experience is one of the best adventures of 2019. [Issue #44 – January/February 2020, p. 64]
  20. Jan 29, 2020
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a glorious moment of happiness with the childhood and Halloween's flavors. Smart in its gameplay, neat in terms of scenery and atmosphere, it offers a solid and refreshing experience in this labyrinthic hotel. Good ideas follow one another in fun situations where bosses and puzzles are full of surprises. A true success for the Nintendo Switch.
  21. Dec 5, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is easily the most delightful game I've played in 2019. Its tiny details add up to form an engrossing and endearing whole: the way ghosts wear sunglasses to block the light from your strobe attack; how enemies try to shoot Gooigi with children's water pistols; the way Luigi moves along ledges with a scared little hops; and how when you're hoovering up mice, they cling to the floor for a moment before being sucked into the nozzle. All of these touches make for an extremely enjoyable game that I've played for hours at a time without feeling that a second was wasted.
  22. Nov 13, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is not only the best game by Next Level Games to date, but also one of the best games currently available on Nintendo Switch along with Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Galaxy, and can easily be a candidate for 2019 game of the year.
  23. Nov 10, 2019
The third time really is the charm, as Luigi’s Mansion 3 finds a perfect blend of humor and gameplay for a delightfully spooky experience.
  24. Nov 10, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 shines with personality, and every time you take the elevator to a new floor, it feels like a pleasant surprise. The game does a lot to move the series forward, but in ways that feel so natural, it’s hard to imagine playing without its new additions. It’s easily the best game in the series, and we’re glad Luigi’s been given another chance to step out of the shadows.
  25. Nov 8, 2019
Once you check in, you won’t want to check out. Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a vibrant interactive CGI movie, beautifully-designed brainteaser, and top-notch action game, all rolled into one. The game isn’t perfect, but its frustrating moments are brief and don’t tarnish the experience as a whole. Luigi’s Mansion 3 stands shoulder to shoulder with Switch must-haves like Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey – it’s scary good.
  26. Nov 7, 2019
A fun, playful adventure full of incredible, delightful little details. The relatively long campaign mode, combined with an extremely robust local and online multiplayer, will keep you occupied for dozens of hours.
  27. Nov 7, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is the perfect mix between spooky and fun gameplay, suitable for fans of any age. The mass amount of variation continuously keeps the game feeling fresh as you play. The option for co-operative play also adds another layer to the game, increasing the replayability further. From the gorgeous graphics to the fantastic music, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is nothing but an enjoyable experience. Going in as a new player to the series was also fantastic. I can definitely see why so many people love the series, and we would love to see Nintendo take it to new and refreshing places in the future, once again.
  28. Nov 4, 2019
With the addition of truly inventive boss battles and puzzles that really make you think, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a joy to play and was well worth the six year wait. And with the addition of multiplayer mode, you and your friends are sure to be talking about it for months to come.
  29. In a medium overloaded with huge and hyper-violent experiences, it’s an absolute delight to encounter a game like Luigi’s Mansion 3, a small but painstakingly architected adventure that engages us with its creativity, innovation and individuality.
  30. Oct 30, 2019
Luigi's spooky Switch debut revels in the details whilst stealthily expanding his horizons. Scarily good fun.
  31. Oct 29, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is marred only by its ease-of-play and its controls (or lack of variant control options), but is still more-than-playable. It is easily the most progressively designed game Nintendo has made from a tech perspective, while its visual design, comedic writing and overall charm scream “classic Nintendo”. Multiplayer and co-op add value, but the true goo here is in the game’s ever-enjoyable single-player campaign that will keep you checking, checking and checking again under that bed, for that hidden ghost, or that hidden treasure.
  32. 90
With near endless creativity, thoughtful puzzles and a lot of laughs, Luigi's Mansion 3 offers a smart and theatrical haunted house with a huge amount to see, do, collect and play around with.
  33. Oct 28, 2019
Beautiful, clever, fun.... It's hard not to fall under the spell of Luigi's Mansion 3, a title that anchors this series among Nintendo's most prestigious. Entirely playable in cooperation, LM3 never ceases to surprise by offering a state of the art level-design and, as always, inventive puzzles. The title from Next Level Games is, simply put, one of the best game on the Nintendo Switch.
  34. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 has better bosses and puzzles than its predecessors and there is never a dull moment to be had when exploring the Last Resort Hotel.
  35. Oct 28, 2019
It is relentlessly charming, consistently charming, and punctuated in every moment by the sheer joy of sucking. When the weather turns cold, pop this one in and imagine the troubles of the world gone, at least for a few hours.
  36. Oct 28, 2019
    Quotation forthcoming.
  37. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is the most spooky and fun adventure from Super Mario's brother.
  38. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is an extremely intelligent and even original adventure game, yet another demonstration of how vital and vibrant Nintendo's creativity is.
  39. Oct 28, 2019
The third episode is the best one so far: a funny adventure and a challenging multiplayer will keep players engaged for a good number of hours.
  40. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is the perfect example of the Nintendo way of making games. It comes six years after the last chapter, it doesn’t revolutionize the core concepts, but it introduces just the perfect amount of new features to feel fresh. However, the most important thing is that it's funny, damn funny, like watching a Ghostbusters VHS every Sunday morning in your childhood.
  41. 90
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a fantastic evolution for the series. Its significantly longer campaign, slew of multiplayer options, and more varied gameplay distinguish it from the more arcadey, speedrun-friendly original to a point that direct comparison is challenging, but Luigi’s Mansion 3 is an obvious step up from Dark Moon, which was already a great game in its own right. The hotel adventure is amazing and the ScareScraper is addictive enough to add hours of gameplay. Series fans have a fantastic sequel to look forward to, and newcomers should take Luigi’s Mansion 3 as an opportunity to jump into one of Nintendo’s most unique franchises while it is firing on all cylinders.
  42. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is clearly the best entry in the franchise. It brings the old spooky atmosphere with a lot of great sequences, full of humour and exploration.
  43. Oct 28, 2019
With a lot of gameplay enhancements from previous iterations, a gorgeously rendered game world, and a whole host more besides, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is easily the apex of the franchise. The sheer amount to see and do, along with the amount of adorable details, make this game a wonderful experience and one I would recommend. Sucking at games has (rarely) felt this good.
  44. Oct 28, 2019
Despite a few niggling control and camera issues, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a world of fun, and full of Nintendo's iconic style and substance. It builds on what makes the series great, and is easily on the best games of 2019. An essential purchase for every Switch owner!
  45. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 takes you on a memorable spooky adventure packed full of creative puzzles, fantastic level designs, and oodles of charm.
  46. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is the high point of the series, simply because it polishes the Luigi's Mansion formula to a shine.
  47. 90
Luigi's Mansion 3 has some incredibly clever (and difficult) puzzles, featuring interesting new abilities and expanding on the series' classic gameplay. It's everything I wanted and more in a continuation of the franchise.
  48. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a very nice improvement over the previous iterations, but the multiplayer modes appear to shallow in comparison with the solo campaign.
  49. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is not only a graphical powerhouse and showcase for Next Level Games’ unrivalled mastery of video game animation, it’s also an immense helping of spooky fun as well. The amount of care and consideration poured into every facet of the game is abundantly clear, and it all results in one of the most enjoyable and attractive Switch titles of the year. It's also the undisputed high point of a franchise which – following this sterling release – will hopefully get even more love and attention from Nintendo fandom, and the gaming community as a whole.
  50. Oct 28, 2019
If you’re a fan of the Luigi’s Mansion series, then Luigi’s Mansion 3 is exactly what you’d expect out of a new game in the series. While it adds some new mechanics and modes, Next Level Games never does anything drastic to shake things up, but this isn’t a bad thing.
  51. 90
For my first experience with the Luigi's Mansion series, I had such a good time. Boiled down it's a fairly simple riff on GhostBusters, but Luigi's Mansion has been produced with such a sense of humour and eye for detail that it has a personality and uniquely Nintendo quality all of its own. Halloween always brings the deluge of seasonably-themed games, and so many of them aim for a true kind of horror. Nintendo tops the pack this year with something that revels in the silliness of the season, and it does so with panache.
  52. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi is back with his best (and ghostly) adventure yet. He is ready for you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No job is too big. No fee is too big.
  53. Oct 28, 2019
The exotic holidays of Luigi's Mansion 3 look like a phantasmagorical comedy, each floor from this hotel presenting a play of its own which revisits the classic horror movies themes, thanks to Next Level Games' fantastic imagination through mischievous stagecraft, wonderful riddles and stunning ectoplasmic battles. Beyond the already reinforced ghost hunter gear, such elements are combined marvelously, if not even better in duo, since the slimy characteristics of Gooigi both fluidify and enrich the whole experience. A team spirit encouraged by the terrific multi player modes, in particular the more stupendously trapped ScareScraper, bound to haunt the long hallowed eves slamming with friends endlessly.
  54. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a graveyard smash you don't want to miss.
  55. Oct 28, 2019
There is no better example of the boundless creativity of their collaboration than Luigi’s Mansion 3.
  56. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is the best in the series, gooey hands down. Its fully co-op compatible story mode constantly delights and innovates, taking full advantage of Luigi and Gooigi’s vacuuming antics, both old and new. Although the dedicated multiplayer modes ultimately aren’t going to sustain repeat visits, they are a sideshow to the story’s main haunt.
  57. Oct 28, 2019
Games don't get much more enjoyable and funnier than Luigi's Mansion 3. Its charming game world and characters will crack you up as the gameplay remains a real hoot from start to finish. As a result, it's yet another well-deserved feather in Nintendo's cap.
  58. CD-Action
    Jan 10, 2020
Despite rather average controls and a few stretched out moments Luigi’s Mansion 3 remains one of the best Nintendo games of 2019 – and a proof that vacuuming can be proper fun. [01/2020, p.80]
  59. Nov 8, 2019
From the moment you turn it on, the game is just oozing with joy and family fun. This game takes the best parts of Dark Moon and Luigi's Mansion 1 and combines them to create a wonderful experience.
  60. Nov 5, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is a solid sequel with tons of well-crafted puzzles. It's fun to explore and fighting with bosses is both exciting and tricky.
  61. Nov 4, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is a charming, delightful and enjoyable game. It doesn't break any molds or do anything particularly new, but it executes the gameplay with almost perfect precision. The only really flaw is the lackluster combat, which is at odds with the rest of the excellent experience. If you enjoyed the original Luigi's Mansion or are looking for a fun adventure with a certain green plumber, this is the game for you.
  62. Oct 31, 2019
Everything is there; a big hotel, threatening forces from the great beyond and tons of humor. The overall improved gameplay, the graphics and animations, the flow of the game, the dedicated multiplayer modes and the new ghosts are among the elements of Luigi's Mansion 3 that guarantee a good amount of fun --despite the series getting a turn towards multiplayer that we don’t fully enjoy.
  63. Oct 30, 2019
It's hard to say anything more about Luigi's Mansion 3, other than "it's cool." Not everything works perfectly, but it definitely is a very good game - weird, but good. It brings fun, but not emotions. It's memorable, but it doesn't make for a good game to talk about with friends. Still, if you own a Switch, you should be happy with the purchase.
  64. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a game that will satisfy those who have enjoyed the past 2 adventures of this coward plumber. Next Level Games took what worked in Dark Moon, combined it with the best of the first installment and let their creativity flow in other branches to deliver what I think is the best Luigi’s Mansion to day. It is a shame that its pacing is not ideal for a game of its kind, but that does not prevent it from being a high quality product.
  65. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is a fun ghost-hunting adventure regardless of your experience with the franchise.
  66. Oct 28, 2019
Fun for everyone, Luigi’s Mansion 3 delights with its themed bosses and exploration. It’s a slow burn though, and not everyone will appreciate its pacing.
  67. 85
Luigi's Mansion 3 is an extremely solid entry and another must-have for Switch owners. The game has a tonne of improvements that feel natural and make for great puzzles. It's also an absolute treat visually.
  68. Nov 1, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a nice spooky treat for your Switch. Anyone who loved the original will love this one too, and the game is easily welcoming enough to rope some newcomers into the franchise as well. How could anyone find issue with a game whose menu screen is a Virtual Boy? Ah, Nintendo. You know how to laugh at yourself.
  69. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is so fun, charming, and smartly designed that I hope we get more than three of these every 20 years.
  70. Game World Navigator Magazine
    Dec 6, 2019
Dedicated multiplayer modes grow stale quickly, and we wish there were more customization options for controls and camera, but other than this, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a very solid game both for solo and co-op. [Issue#241, p.64]
  71. Oct 28, 2019
The mechanical structure is quite repetitive, but this ghost hunting adventure in a haunted mansion looks and sounds just great. A decent experience throughout, but no stroke of genius like Super Mario Odyssey or Breath of the Wild.

An excellent action adventure game with great puzzles, beautiful surroundings and lots of small details that you will love to discover. [Issue#301]
  73. Nov 21, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is far and away the best entry in the series. It uses a familiar formula with a unique twist to create a single player adventure worthy of the quality we come to expect from Nintendo’s first party lineup. The stellar animation and presentation are unmatched, and the addition of co-op play is a huge bonus. Nintendo continues to deliver exemplary titles for its newest console. It almost feels like they can do no wrong on Switch. Yet another game that Switch owners should not miss out on.
  74. 80
Luigi's Mansion 3 doesn't get the series where it needs to be, but it certainly moves it closer to that goal.
  75. Nov 7, 2019
Even as the game delights in bizarre wonders the likes of which the series has never seen before, it never loses sight of either its core theme—of the underdog overcoming adversity—or its enjoyable vacuum-powered comedy of destruction. Luigi might be luckless, but he’s still a force to be reckoned with across this, the most variety-rich Luigi’s Mansion game to date.
  76. Nov 7, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3's ScreamPark and ScareScraper modes could have used more content, but the main story still provides plenty of things for players to do. The filler at the end of it hurts the pacing, but players will have a blast with the game until they reach that point. Luigi's Mansion 3 is still an easy recommendation for Nintendo Switch owners or anyone looking for a fun local co-op game.
  77. Nov 5, 2019
While the 3DS title may have received mixed reception, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a wonderful return to form from the first title that does the series justice. It’s on par, if not better, than the original simply because of the great atmosphere and wonderful puzzling challenge it brings. While fighting enemies isn’t the most difficult thing ever, especially for older players, it’s still fun and never overstays its welcome between exploring each and every floor in the haunted hotel. Luigi’s Mansion 3 is an absolutely wonderful time that makes it easy to want to jump in and keep exploring the hotel to find every last secret it has to offer.
  78. Nov 4, 2019
While it’s about as scary as a Disney Halloween movie, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is still a joy to play. First-timers and veterans alike will find their time well spent here.
  79. Oct 31, 2019
Like many of Nintendo’s best-loved franchises, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is imaginative, humorous and highly inventive. It may be nearly two decades old but the series continues to evolve in pleasing ways.
  80. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is a beautifully animated adventure with satisfying puzzles and gadgets; it suffers slightly for its length, but a deep well of charm and humour win the day.
  81. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is yet another excellent Nintendo exclusive and is the perfect antidote to the doom and gloom that runs rampant in the horror genre these days. It may not do everything perfectly, but from a technical side, I'm hard-pressed to think of a better-looking game on the Switch this year. It may not have the challenge some are looking for, but when the rest of the game is this wonderfully presented, it's hard not to just get sucked right along for the fun-filled, spooky adventure.
  82. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 delivers up to its expectations, and builds on the first two entries in the series. It has the right level of challenge, varied locales, brilliant animation and comedy. The downfalls are that the base game is relatively short and the free multiplayer can get boring after a while. Nonetheless this looks superb right down to the charming characterisation of Luigi's face, or the stunning environments, and it is well worth a buy.
  83. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi’s Mansion 3 acts as an excellent addition both to the series itself and the ever-growing roster of excellent games on the Switch. It’s atmospheric, and will provide fun all the family can enjoy over the course of its relatively short story.
  84. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is the spooky and funny puzzle-adventure you're expecting, though it could have been a little more challenging.
  85. Oct 28, 2019
If you are looking for a challenge then Luigi’s Mansion 3 might not be for you. The game is only mildly difficult but – for most – that won’t really matter. Luigi’s Mansion 3 is an absolute delight from start to finish, bursting with charm and re-playable mechanics.
  86. Oct 28, 2019
Overall, I’m a little disappointed with Luigi’s Mansion 3 - though that's largely down to my own expectations. It’s an undoubtedly good game that’s competently made. It oozes charm and is filled with clever puzzles and fun boss fights. It’s just that all the bits between those start to become tedious before the game’s end.
  87. 80
Luigi's Mansion 3 is a fun time, but not without its fair share of faults. While the gameplay and presentation deserve my highest praises, there are elements I'm less high on. The good and underutilized floors keep going back and forth without there being a real consistent pattern. It doesn't exactly help that the game gives away its conclusion too soon, way before you even come close to it. The ScareScraper is a lovely time as well, though with content being strapped back for a singular, clean game mode. Players who want to continuously enjoy the game might be better off trying to 100% the Story Mode. The collectibles are nicer to deal with now, which makes exceeding those initial ten hours not even a problem. Oh, and that Slam attack is pretty incredible as well.
  88. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 occasionally suffers because of its fixed camera and a ghastly boss fight here and there, but the "goo" overwhelms the bad in this haunting adventure. Sucking up stuff with your Poltergust is still satisfying, and slamming ghosts into each other feels so right. Add buckets of charm, and you have a game that proves—yet again—that Luigi is the superior Mario Brother.
  89. Oct 28, 2019
Make no mistake; Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a good game. With a great variety in themes, inventive bosses, and some really cool small ideas that break up the main gameplay elements. There are just a few things holding it back from being great, such as a massive lack of enemy variation and I do feel that at certain points, the games plays it a little too safe at times. Nevertheless, I had tons of fun playing through and it is an easy recommendation to anybody, as it will appeal to so many different people. Luigi is still my favourite Ghostbuster.
  90. Oct 28, 2019
With a near-perfect story mode, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a polished spectral comedy that keeps you on your toes. While its multiplayer and co-op modes are slick to play, the minigames lower the bar. Yet it’s in the animation and the devilish puzzles that really makes this game shine, with or without the Strobulb. Well done Luigi, those ghosts didn’t stand a chance.
  91. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 may not feature the greatest plot ever written but even if its controls are not top-notch, this is undoubtedly a marvelous game that features plenty of things to do, as well as lots of moments that are strong in both humour and gloom. Its gorgeous visual environment and exquisite soundtrack make a big contribution as well, for a result that is nothing short of a remarkable game that could only improve if it was more daring in its innovative qualities.
  92. Oct 28, 2019
There are some shortcomings here and there but if you are a die-hard Luigi's Mansion fan, you will adore this game. Heck, even if you've never played a game in the series and you own a Switch, do yourself a favor and check this one out.
  93. Oct 28, 2019
Luigi's Mansion 3 is sometimes a bit messy and a bit lazy, but that is in great contrast to the funny puzzles, action and visual spectacle that the game has to offer: a bunch of weird baddies, an arsenal of original themes with accompanying items and an irresistible, scared Luigi.

It leans too much in the direction of the original when it comes to the puzzles and difficultly level but this is still an utterly charming romp, with wonderfully inventive set pieces and gorgeous visuals.

Luigi's Mansion 3 brings the franchise back from slumber without skipping a beat, offering tightly designed gameplay mechanics, enticing exploration, and the typical Nintendo charm.

Despite its annoyances, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a hauntingly good time, packed with charm everywhere you look.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 is the biggest and best entry in a befuddling franchise, and a game that really makes a case for everyone’s favorite second fiddle to get more spin-off adventures. Developer Next Level Games has expanded on the Poltergust’s abilities in meaningful ways, adding more variety to the action and puzzles alike. Gooigi might seem a little shoehorned, but it’s a great excuse for cooperative multiplayer on a system built for it. A few minor annoyances aside, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a strange, charming, and generous sequel.

Luigi's first ghost-filled adventure on Switch offers up another satisfying blend of exploration and puzzle-solving.

The stars of Luigi’s Mansion 3 are the huggable slime blob Gooigi and the particularly creative hotel floors packed with secrets and puzzles. In the area of ghost hunting, this third part feels less varied due to the greatly improved vacuum cleaner and the lack of variation in ghosts.

Luigi's Mansion 3 treats the player to a meaty single-player adventure, with beautiful environments, a plethora of different enemies and cool puzzles. Afterwards you can even play the game with friends. The fun does get spoiled a bit by a less than ideal camera and clunky controls however. Still, it's a game that can be enjoyed by young and old alike.

Nintendo has succeeded in creating a truly dreadful experience, a game that drills into your psyche and alters your brain. Heed my dire ramblings, and take this gorgeous, well-designed journey at your peril.

The control, however, has more B-movie quality. The key mapping made sure that I would have hurled my controller against some of the boss fights against the wall. Although I got used to it over time, it would have been even better if the keys had been assigned differently from the start.

Luigi's latest adventure is an adorable and well-made game that is far more diverse than we first thought. Exploring the hotel sometimes feels as extensive as the usual Super Mario adventure, instead of the brief experiences that preceded it. In addition, Luigi's arsenal has grown and with the help of Gooigi we also get a whole new way to deal with the many puzzles the hotel offers. But above all, it's the variety of ghosts and their surroundings that makes Luigi's Mansion 3 one of the most entertaining adventures this fall, despite some tricky controlling methods.

Then it interrupts the action for a bit of brazen padding, inviting you to trudge back through earlier floors to track the spectral pawprints of an elusive cat, and you wonder if you were right first time. [Issue#339, p.96]

Luigi's Mansion 3 is charming and gets more challenging by the level, but its boring ghost-fighting and money-collection-focused gameplay gets old fairly soon.

Luigi’s Mansion’s 3 is my kind of haunted house — a place that’s more funny than scary. For anyone who likes Nintendo games of the Mushroom Kingdom variety there are many reasons to book a stay.

The most “Nintendo” game from Nintendo in years.

These fights are where the game’s most obvious issue – its controls – also rears its head every now and then. Those controls are much, much better than they were on 3DS, but still remain a bit tricky when playing portably. However, despite a few niggling frustrations when fighting key bosses, they never really tarnish what is a wonderful slapstick delight housed in Nintendo’s most exquisitely detailed location in years.

It’s the sheer variety of experiences in Luigi’s Mansion 3 that keeps it entertaining throughout. While you might at first think you’re in for a repetitive time as you go through the first few floors and find nothing but standard hotel rooms, things get quite unexpected as you continue higher and higher. While it doesn’t reinvent the wheel, it’s a solid take on a series that hasn’t had many entries over the last nearly 20 years. Mostly, it’s just nice to see that Luigi is indeed alive, and not dead.

Boss fights are a small sliver of the Luigi’s Mansion 3 experience. Each level is a complex onion of ideas to peel back, layer by layer. Next Level Games continues its strong tradition of granting Luigi far more depth than his superstar older brother, even if he is always doomed to keep getting scared for our enjoyment.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 is part of a rare breed of slapstick comedy games, joining the likes of the ridiculous Octodad. Its humor doesn’t come from witty writing or great jokes; it’s enjoyable exclusively because it’s fun watching Luigi suffer.

Luigi’s mansion 3 expands on every aspect of its predecessors, highlighting how fun campaign driven games still are in modern gaming.

I first remember playing Luigi’s mansion on GameCube around release. Sat with my Dad and my twin brother, we played one of the most charming and fun Nintendo titles late into the evenings. It was a fantastic albeit short playthrough, and since then I have replayed the campaign multiple times. Luigi’s mansion 3 truly rekindles these memories and reminds me why as a series it is just plain fun.

The graphics are a great step up from when they were first showed off a year ago, and are quite impressive on the switch hardware. Having said that I have noticed a few frame dips when the game is saving, and in areas where there are a lot of assets on screen. This happens very rarely however and did not takeaway from the experience. One thing that really impressed me was the physics engine. I had so much fun just vacuuming jack o lanterns to see how shadows were cast, or seeing polterpup leaving a ghostly mark as he flies through walls. Very clever.

The lighting and texture effects are very impressive too, and there appears to be a lot of game for your money here. Introducing Co-op using Gooigi also works really well, and feels like a natural progression for the series. Sucking up ghosts, picking up a hundred floating dollar bills, and Luigi’s comedic dialogue is just as fun as it all used to be. This is Nintendo at its best.
