    This game is a few patches away from being a 10 on the Switch. There are frame rate issues only on cut scenes which isn’t really an issue, sometimes there’s weird issues like not being able to make a pitching change which can easily be fixed with a patch, and sometimes they call out the wrong name when a batter comes to the plate but other than that the game play is great. Graphics are really solid as long as you’re not an idiot and expecting Xbox series x graphics. If you are an idiot than prepare to be disappointed.     It's been a long time since we've been able to play a current MLB The Show game on a portable console. After playing The Show 22 on the Xbox Series X, I'll admit that it was difficult adjust to the graphical shortcomings of the Switch version. However, I'm still blown away about the gameplay, regardless of the platform. I was able to effortlessly connect my franchise across both platforms.It's been a long time since we've been able to play a current MLB The Show game on a portable console. After playing The Show 22 on the Xbox Series X, I'll admit that it was difficult adjust to the graphical shortcomings of the Switch version. However, I'm still blown away about the gameplay, regardless of the platform. I was able to effortlessly connect my franchise across both platforms. As soon as I booted up my Tigers franchise on the Switch, I fell back in love with the portable version. I remembered the old days of playing the PSP version while hiding out at work in the bathroom. Ah, the good ol' days.

    The graphics will not win any awards, but the gameplay is still pretty much the same thing as the next-gen versions, as far as I can tell. It scratches the itch, and it works perfectly when using cross-platform. I can't wait to see where they take the franchise. In the world of sports video gaming, I count my blessings when I can get them. After EA bought the rights to making NFL games, then discontinued their NCAA series, I have an appreciation for the luxury of being able to enjoy alternatives to EA/2k each year. Sony didn't have to put this game out on the Switch, but they did so regardless.    … Expand

    I think this is a solid 7/8 for this release on the switch.
    its a significant improvement on the last portable version of the show on the PS Vita.
    while there are still some areas for improvement, this is miles better than the RBI baseball releases on the switch. I have played through a few hours of road to the show in both docked and handheld and the gaming experience plays well on    I think this is a solid 7/8 for this release on the switch.

    I have played through a few hours of road to the show in both docked and handheld and the gaming experience plays well on both (actually seem to prefer it docked for use of the pro controller over joycons analog sticks, but both are satisfactory). It may be worth noting that there can be occasional stutters in FPS when on cutscenes but the gaming itself is fairly fluid and it is great to pick up and play. Overall, its fantastic to have MLB the show to play handheld on the go again after all those years on from the show on PS VITA.
    Im sure there may be some stability patches to come in time over the next year, but out of the box this is a very solid port if you can look past the obvious downgrades from the next gen versions.    … Expand

    I am really enjoying this game on the switch. Sure, the graphics are rough around the edges compared to any other console, but the gameplay carries this title for me. It is a fully featured MLB the Show on the switch. And honestly, after a while, once you’re locked in and enjoying a game of baseball, the graphics downgrade isn’t that bothersome for me. There have been a few minor graphicalI am really enjoying this game on the switch. Sure, the graphics are rough around the edges compared to any other console, but the gameplay carries this title for me. It is a fully featured MLB the Show on the switch. And honestly, after a while, once you’re locked in and enjoying a game of baseball, the graphics downgrade isn’t that bothersome for me. There have been a few minor graphical glitches I’ve noticed (stadium lights/posts), but nothing game-breaking. In the end, if you would prefer the option to play baseball on-the-go or away from the living room, I’d say this edition is completely worth it.… Expand

    This game is not great at “first glance”, and you may think it’s not any different from the tech test beta. Once you give it about two hours and adjust the settings to how you like them…man it’s been a dream playing in handheld. I recommend replaying the initial opening game sequence a few times until you’re comfortable with which setting you prefer. I have mine on PULSE PITCHING, andThis game is not great at “first glance”, and you may think it’s not any different from the tech test beta. Once you give it about two hours and adjust the settings to how you like them…man it’s been a dream playing in handheld. I recommend replaying the initial opening game sequence a few times until you’re comfortable with which setting you prefer. I have mine on PULSE PITCHING, and TIMING BATTING. Auto base running and auto fielding, and STRIKE ZONE viewing option for batting. Man it’s beautiful after those changes for me. Trust me, get this game !!!!… Expand

    Playing MLB The Show on a hybrid system is wonderful. The guys over at Sony did a great job on the Switch Port. I love Baseball and i Love this game. Overall it plays smooth and looks better then i thought it would before . Cross play is not bad either. Has alot of content. Hats off for pulling what they have to the Switch.

    This game looks gray for the switch and works. Is not perfect but impressive. The game wasn’t make by EA. Is made by PlayStation, so the guy with the low score haven’t even play the game

    While no review can cover every aspect of a game, overall the first year on Switch is nothing short of a success for The Show. The most realistic baseball sim remains just that, all the while being portable. For any baseball fan, The Show is a must-buy. For any sports fan, The Show is a must-buy. With more content dropping throughout the year (and patches to improve the experience too), there's more than enough bang for your buck. [Issue #59 – May/June 2022, p. 65]

    With how barren the world of licensed baseball games have been on Nintendo systems, even if MLB The Show was a middling port with a token amount of modes, it would have been an oasis in the desert. Luckily, MLB The Show 22 on Switch is so much more than that. It has all of the modes of the 4K versions, including the wonderful March to October, Road to the Show, and Diamond Dynasty offerings. While the online and visual aspects falter at times, the good far outweighs the bad here, as MLB The Show 22 is one of the best sports games of its kind and the Switch version is an excellent way to play it portably and an acceptable way to play it on a television. Here’s hoping The Show is a perennial All-Star on Switch because I could get used to having an assortment of killer baseball games on Nintendo systems again.

    Your impressions of MLB The Show 22 are going to vary depending on the platform you're on. For Xbox players, this remains a solid baseball game that players of all skill levels can enjoy thanks to numerous options and modes. With it being available on the Xbox Game Pass on day one, it's an easy reason to try it out. Those who lived and breathed The Show 21 will find the improvements to be minimal. For Switch fans, there are some rough parts that dull the game's impressiveness, but the presence of a sports simulation on a system that's starving for them should catch players' attention. The Switch is going to be a boon for those who like to play on the go, especially since The Show 15 was the last time it went portable on the Vita. Now if only the series could make its way to the PC ….
