Sep 18, 2017NeuroVoider is the best roguelike game on the Switch right now. It's excellently made, looks beautiful, and offers some of the best multiplayer experiences available on the system. To say I loved the game is an understatement; Flying Oak have made a game that anyone can fall in love with in just a few minutes.

Aug 31, 2018While it doesn’t necessarily revolutionize any of the genres from which it draws inspiration, NeuroVoider still manages to be an exceptionally enjoyable game. Not only did the developers create a mechanically fun game, but they added in a layer of highly enjoyable and deep customization options that is the true heart of the game; no matter what your play-style is, there are countless ways to create unique variations of it. Considering the joy of replaying the game, its issues with occasionally cheap boss fights do little to distract you.

Sep 12, 2017Everything about NeuroVoider just feels good. As a fan of the RPG genre, I love how strategy based thinking has been perfectly mixed with heart pounding action. The biggest concern with Rougelike permadeath is avoiding the feeling of staleness and there is no concern of that here. For one of the best Indie experiences on the Switch so far, the small investment into learning the complexity of the inventory system is more than worth it.

Sep 20, 2017As a challenging indie title which offers a good chunk of replayability, NeuroVoider is certainly worth some of your time. Know before you make the purchase that you're going to be shooting, shooting and more shooting, though, and you should be able to take advantage of it in quick bursts thanks to its pick-up-and-play nature. It's not a cheap one at £12.99, but it's an indie game you ought to give a chance.

Nov 22, 2017Neurovoider is a fun twin-stick shooter and is especially great to have and take around with me everywhere I go. The moody soundtrack bangs, the game's frantic and fast, and the loot system is engaging as you build yourself up and find new and amazingly named things. It's especially perfect if you need a game that you can play a quick couple of rounds of while you're waiting somewhere or on a commute – it starts to feel a little samey and doesn't do too much to set itself apart as different from other similar games, but it's a good time nonetheless.
-
Oct 1, 2017NeuroVoider is a great addition to the Switch, both providing a challenge for a single player while also being a great party game. The loot customization adds a hook to keep you playing and killing more monsters, while the procedural generation makes sure you always have new levels and loot to look for.
-
Oct 15, 2017Neurovoider takes a bold step forward and brings RPG and shooting elements into a roguelike game, a recipe that works surprisingly well. Action-packed, frantic and nerve-wrecking at times, Neurovoider could use a more balanced sense of progression and difficulty but it's certainly on the right path.
