A great game made greater by intelligent Wii-mote use and an extensive single-player mode. [Jan 2007, p.64]
  2. Geometry Wars: Galaxies takes everything good about Bizarre Creations' download hit and expands upon it.
  3. Geometry Wars Galaxies is good for long and short play sessions, but it’s the latter of these that make it perfect for times when you don’t really want an extended play session.
  4. The floodgates have finally been opened and we are starting to see what the console is good for.
  5. Overall Geometry Wars Galaxies is a tight and fast paced shooter that is guaranteed to get the pulse flowing.

There is plenty here to justify the purchase. Provided you haven't splashed out for the Xbox Live game and you already have a Classic Controller for the Wii (guess that leaves a good five of you!) then this is well worth the mullah.
  7. For those who are bored with scores, "lives", and theoretically infinite game stages, skip this shooter and tuck the forty bucks safely away for something else.

Solid controls,Great gameplay, and there is plenty to do.In this game you fly around as a ship and you shoot objects that fly towards you and that try to attack you. There are different types of enemies that you encounter. Some just fly around, some dodge your shots, some go straight for you, and others act like black holes and try to draw you and other enemies in. The other game on this game is the other geometry wars game that was on the XBLA. Both versions include online leader boards and tons of arcade action. Expand

This is a great game. Fun to play and beautiful to look at. They really made some improvements since the original version. Worth every penny, This is a great game. Fun to play and beautiful to look at. They really made some improvements since the original version. Worth every penny, but you have to buy the classic controller. It is just not as good with the remote. Expand

An excellent conversion (and upgrade) of an already outstanding bit of arcade style fun.

A very adicting experience that can only be put down against your will. This game is (as IGN.com stated) Asteroids on steroids. The A very adicting experience that can only be put down against your will. This game is (as IGN.com stated) Asteroids on steroids. The Galaxies's difficulty is turned to hard, even in the first few stages. The game comes together as a slight RPG as there are different drones (a helper on the back of your ship) has different behaviors that can be leveled up. Graphics are stunning, not to detail but overall style. As I said earlier this game has a mass level of difficulty when, oh,say 100 thousand things come at you, the games simplistic graphics keep up with the action as ships explode, warp holes begin to suck time and space and the grid envernment moves from under you. Replay value? What kind of a question is that? This game will have you addicted if you've ever played early space shooters like Space Invaders, Galaga, and, you guessed it, Asteroids. Only few bad things can be said. For one thing, your character is too small to be seen when there are so many explosions other than that this game is still quiet the enjoyable experience. Verdict: 9.0 Expand

I was wondering why it was so popular so I picked up a copy knowing nothing about it. I found it really entertaining at first, but then I was wondering why it was so popular so I picked up a copy knowing nothing about it. I found it really entertaining at first, but then realized that the gameplay does not change at all. What you see is what you get. If you're not enthralled in the first 5 minutes you're done for. Not great for replay, but, not terrible. Expand
