In tuning the defensive systems and the attacking AI, the development team has unlocked the potential that Fifa 12 only hinted at, creating a game that, at last, seems to invite improvisational play, a game in which your own skill as a player comes to the fore.

FIFA 13 manages to add more improvements to an already great series, with a more varied and entertaining offering. If you're football lovers, this is the game to have.

The King is still here, no matter how much the competitor is doing better. If you are looking for the real soccer sim you have to buy FIFA 13.

With absolute minimal issues with gameplay, the deepest roster in any title to date, updated career and pro modes, and some of the most accurate player models, FIFA 13 is the best soccer game to date. If this were the World Cup, FIFA 13 would be hoisting the trophy.

The fluidity and speed of FIFA makes it pure joy to play, an area where it reigns supreme over its rival Pro Evo.

There is just so much to like about this year's FIFA and the series is still making important improvements that justify the annual purchase. It's finally the game last year should have been, and although there are some niggling little issues, overall it feels like a solid simulation of the wonderful world game of soccer.

Despite the occasional bugs we get from the Impact Engine and the dated graphics engine, FIFA 13 is the most complete football game experience you will ever get.

Overall, FIFA 13 is EA's best football title to date. While there are a number of bugs that still need to be ironed out, there's enough content and improvements to the gameplay to justify a purchase. EA Sports have created a title that football fans will be playing up until the next season.

It doesn't need a hokey in-game marketplace where players can trade credits for uniforms in order to be better; such insecurity only cheapens the whole thing. FIFA 13 is a triumph when viewed on its core merits; its ability to excite and drive the player to new levels of skill and enjoyment through the age-old medium of football.

There isn't a better sports title than FIFA 13 out right now, and I include any and all varieties of sports in that claim. There isn't a single release out there that has the depth, variety and longevity to match it.

The most fun new feature has to go to the new Skill Games, these fun little games will have you trying to master skills such as free kicks and dribbling via a series of mini games like kicking the ball into a bucket.

The player-on-player and player-on-ball interactions, along with the AI improvements, sell the look and feel of true human interaction on the pitch. The infusion of real-life soccer developments throughout the game makes the experience come alive; you feel like you're part of a vibrant, passionate community of soccer fans.

This year's edition is bigger than ever. It features an almost ridiculous amount of game modes and licenses, everything packaged in a nice presentation. Several systems have been rehauled as well, such as the physics engine and the AI. It's just a shame that the players still feel a bit sluggish with too extreme shots and passes.

FIFA 13 demonstrates that virtual football in the hands of EA's Vancouver studio is getting closer and closer to perfection. The number of novelties and changes is a very pleasant surprise and should make the owners of 2012 edition want to buy the newest installment. The developers made sure that there will no boredom: frequent updates, additional challenges, many online tournaments and a complex career mode create an image of a complete sports game with tons of things to offer.

I couldn't wish for more. The faster pace really does wonders for FIFA 13. It might take a while until you get used to it, but that's a couple of hours well invested as you get much more dynamic, tense and unpredictable game of football.

If you were a huge fan of last year's game, there might not be enough in 13 to warrant an immediate purchase but FIFA 13 is certainly the best football game to date until at least the next generation.

By playing it safe, FIFA Soccer 13 lacks innovation but this latest installment has helped keep the series at the forefront of video realism that you're pretty darn close from watching a live match, which is something you can't say about other sporting video games.

The new offensive AI, in particular, with its new pathing routines makes FIFA 13 worth buying. Additionally, the other new features like First-Touch-Control and tactical free-kicks enhance the franchise's playability. Add the large variety of game modes and licenses and you get one of the best sports games on the market.

Dribbling's expanded, players are fallible, and online modes complement the real world unlike any sports title before it.

Definitely an improvement on its predecessor. The additions from last year have been worked on and sit far more comfortably this time. Developed physicality and complete unpredictability mature proceedings on the pitch.

Kinect works well. It's been implemented unobtrusively and in a way that makes sense.

More of an evolution than a revolution, indeed. But a major evolution nonetheless in terms of fun. With a revised collision engine, superb AI, and First Touch Control, FIFA 13 is superior to last year's edition in almost every way, topping the list of the best soccer games ever created.

FIFA 13 is also the most broadly appealing game EA Canada has ever produced in other ways. It's absolutely rammed with different ways into it, and it takes unprecedented advantage of its intimacy with the people who run the big leagues and own all the broadcast rights.

Retaining its position at the top of the league, FIFA 13 shows us yet again that EA Sports is the daddy of iterative improvements. It may not be a huge leap over FIFA 12, but it remains the very best football game available on consoles. An easy recommendation.

FIFA 13 captures a lot of the passion and pageantry of world football, but beneath the surface its gameplay flaws can hinder the beautiful movements that truly make the sport great.

FIFA 13 - by way of first touch control, improved Attacking AI and skill-bridging features - is the best football game on the market...Thanks to a few janky player collision interpretations, some frustrating AI decisions and a sub-par commentary it's not the best football game it can be - but that won't stop me from playing it for hours and hours and hours and...

And while all these pieces are solid, reliable, and improve the product, they won't set any soccer fans' pants on fire. So do you upgrade? If you haven't since FIFA 11, then you're due. If you're a new recruit in '12, then maybe you can wait until '14.

FIFA 13 is the impressive result of years of improvements and tests. The impact-engine really comes into its own and can be felt more properly throughout the rest of the game. Additions like first-touch, dynamic commentary and the skill games provide a fresh take on the already refined and expansive base of FIFA.

All in all you can't go wrong picking up this year's FIFA edition, even if you have played for years or this is your first time with the series.

This year's installment of FIFA has increasingly improved from its previous release.

Just like last year, FIFA 13 is an excellent game, but EA really hasn't added many new things and the AI is still somewhat lacking.

An evolution of last year's FIFA is enough for EA to win the battle of football games, but it may need to step up its game next year with PES improving.
