There's no shortage of puzzle games on XBLA, and structurally, Leedmees is competent and fun, but not revolutionary. However, given the art style and excellent use of Kinect controls – let alone the riotous multiplayer, Konami's awesome little experiment deserves a look.
The presentation of Leedmees is clear and crisp, but won't blow you away. You can get through the single player levels in about three hours, although naturally it'll take longer if you want to get good rankings. The multiplayer suite of levels also helps to eke out the longevity.
It's never as smooth and intuitive as it needs to be. But don't let that put you off at least trying out one of the most creative motion-based games yet.
Leedmees offers a fun twist on the Lemmings formula but bites off more than it can chew.
Charming visuals aside, Leedmees does little to distinguish itself, and less to justify its $10 price.
It just feels too much like an engaging tech demo that had nowhere solid to expand to. [Issue#115, p.110]
