MX vs. ATV Alive is one of the best racing games I've played in a while, and is actually a racing game I'm somewhat decent at. The Rider Reflex System didn't take that long to get used to and if you have issues controlling the vehicle, you can always go into a free roam area to practice (and get some small XP). The only thing that makes me rate this game the way I did was the unlock system. If it was based on race performance and not ludicrous amounts of XP, I'd definitely rate the game higher.

MX Vs. ATV Alive doesn't raise the bar when it comes to racing action, as its over comprehensive controls and familiar presentation won't wow everyone. But for fans of motocross and previous examples of Rainbow Studios' work, it's definitely worth taking a ride with.

As a racing game, MX vs. ATV Alive is fantastic. The controls are near perfect, the action is always intense, and it's just a fun game to play. Unfortunately, a bad system for unlocking new stuff and a severe lack of content really hold Alive back from reaching its full potential. Hopefully THQ delivers some quality downloadable content in the coming months, because if any game deserves it, it's MX vs. ATV Alive.

This game has a serious lack of gameplay modes. However, the XP system is a lot of fun for anyone who likes to customize their racer down right down to the tiniest detail.

A sad example of a game that has so much going for it, but lacks the content to back it up. The game plays great, is a blast online and contains moments of brilliance, but its lack of any kind of tutorial, career structure and just plain content really drag it down.

MX vs. ATV Alive isn't a stand out racing title, but for a budget priced game it ended up being a whole lot better than I would have suspected.

The only thing that can possibly be complimented with Alive would be a few vague ideas with the potential for fun; but grading on those alone is hardly enough. Whatever the game could have been is smothered in the dirt.

There is no other motorcycle game like this, and the fact that it's dirtbikes makes it that much better. The reflex control returns, and that's awesome. The fact that you don't get knocked off the bike with every little bump now is awesome. The weight and clutch control, seat bounce, scrub and whips, all of this is a really nice touch add the control that was missing from every other racing game I've played. There is no other motocross game (just like there was only 1 matrix).
I do have to say though, all this makes it difficult to play properly for a noob, but if you can't seat bounce or control the clutch, you don't really have to worry about it. I wouldn't take a way a bit of the control and I don't think it makes things more difficult for rookie's, just leave the difficulty setting appropriate until you're ready for the additional challenge and control.

Yes, at first it was interesting, we even managed to play with others along with other poor fellows (for other people of level 50 who have been playing this game since the day of release, I admit I can’t), but in the end - there’s absolutely nothing to do here.

Yes, the music here is great and the game is graphically well preserved (even by public standards) but the lack of a career area and track variety feels very inferior + if your opponent breaks away from you at the beginning of the race - you have about 0% chance to catch up with your opponent even for 5 laps - experienced players do not get errors, and the design of those risks of the route that is here is not very good. Glory to Ukraine!

Just like every other MX vs. ATV game, MX vs. ATV Alive does motocross well.

This is a game that gets the Riding aspect of motorcycles and ATV's absolutely RIGHT and exactly nothing else even comes close to right. All 6This is a game that gets the Riding aspect of motorcycles and ATV's absolutely RIGHT and exactly nothing else even comes close to right. All 6 that I'm giving are for the actual riding gameplay, which is nailed, everything from computer riders to the fact the track changes with grooves from each lap.
Which just serves to punctuate how it failed at everything else. First, NO CAREER MODE. so basically everything you do is exhibition, it means nothing. there is a lame attempt at medals for coming in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, but they do not match difficulty, so if you get 1st on average, there is no difference made if you get 1st on 'pro' or 'all time'. The game can't even really start until you get to level 25, where most of the bikes and tracks are unlocked, and by that time most gamers will be fed up.
To be fair, this game was sent on a platform where you pay less in the beginning (i believe it shipped at 39.95) and then you pay to upgrade what you want through their live lobby. But what if they shut down their live marketplace and you could never upgrade anything? then you are left with a barebones game you cant do anything with, AND THATS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. shame on them, I could maybe understand if they were going bankrupt or out of business after being sold, but MX vs. ATV SUPERCROSS drops later this year.

I had more fun mocking this game with a friend while I played it than I actually had playing it with my friend.

It is incredibly mediocre, worst motorcross game I've played. Even Motorcross Madness was more fun than this piece of garbage. It has no business being on the 360, I'm not sure it has business being anywhere except maybe at a boredom convention being held in the heart of the sun.
