From the moment the Monday Night Football theme song kicks off, you know you're going to love the new Genkibowl VII DLC for Saint's Row: The Third. It continues the mayhem and utter amazing stupidity of the core game in a short burst of activities and new gear.
I had a great time with the missions aside from the Super Ethical PR Opportunity jobs, but I recognize that this DLC isn't for everyone. There's no denying that the DLC is short; the eight missions go by very quickly. If you didn't like the side missions and don't care about homies, special vehicles or outfits, you might want to let this one pass you by. If you're like me, though, and simply crave more of the Steelport crazy, you could do a lot worse than GenkiBowl VII.
I just picked this up on sale for 280 points and am I mad at myself!I let the reviews get the best of me and thought it wasn't going to be **** the asking price of 560 points it's a ****'s pure fun that will make you laugh from the start of the mission just like the whole game **** you look at it like that, then there is nothing to complain about but if you look at it in the light of how Rockstar's add-on's are full content like getting another game then it is disappointing but I look at this the way it should be looked ****'s really as long as you want it to be,I can play this over and over, still have fun, still laugh, and be confident that I got a great deal. What a ride!
When I played GTA (multiple games from the series), with each release I would get bored after a few hours.
Saints Row: The Third is no such beast. This game is exciting, action packed, hilarious, and overall just... Exhilarating. Yeah one or two challenges are a bit annoying, but that doesn't change the fact that with the fourth game being more Infamous Style Super hero focus, this game is the best GTA style game out there. Counting GTA itself. It's a wonderful little treasure that understands nobody plays GTA to feel bad about killing people. It's to drive over the sidewalk, blow police cars to smithereens, skydive into planes to hijack them and beat mascots to death with giant **** while dressed as their own role-play fantasy gang boss.
This game is fun. Everything in the game was added to be fun, and not to be frustrating or "realistic". The game couldn't care less about physics, it knows you want to fling your body over that building for insurance fraud and it's more than happy to oblige. It just asks you pause every now and then for a genuinely cool, incredibly badass campaign that lets you ride a wrecking ball down the floors of a business building and crush a rival gang boss before driving home in a giant cat shaped vacuum cleaner.
Get these Saints some money.
The cost of Genkibowl VII isn't worth the quantity of gameplay you get for your money, and the quality of the gameplay isn't good enough to justify committing to a Season Pass at this point. I had a lot of fun with Saints Row: The Third, I expected more out of Professor Genki.
Genkibowl VII is not the Saints Row: The Third add-on you've been waiting for. Instead it's a painfully bad mini-game collection, half of which is recycled from last year's disc-based release. There are some funny lines here and there, but they won't make up for the disappointing and overpriced content!
Saints Row 3 is a tough act to follow, particularly given how much awesome over-the-top stuff is already in there. But dribbling out forgettable and pointless content like Genki Bowl is exactly the wrong way to follow it.
Overall I enjoyed this dlc and thought it brought a lot of new things to the game such as activities and vehicles. However there aren't really missions its all side missions or activities. At 560msp for xbox live I feel that its a little overpriced and should be around the 300-350 msp mark. If you are a big fan of the Saints Row series then you won't really mind what price it is and enjoy it. If you aren't that bug of a fan then you could give it a try and know for the future what Volition's dlc are like.
First off I must say this DLC's new challenges are loads of fun and I must admit I did bust out my terrible Japanese Gameshow host accent and it offended myself and my Roommate, however at this point I had Infinite ammo for all my guns so most of the challenges were a breeze. But I kinda wish there was more story and maybe a cool bossfight towards the end so yeah all in all it's worth it.
Not horrible but this is just a bunch of side missions and side missions ****. No new vehicles, weapons or anything cool. I would recommend skipping it or only picking it up if you find it on sale.
Terrible addon that is far from fun. This addon SHOULD OF BEEN FREE because ITS ALREADY ON THE DISK. Volition is terrible. They abusing there long time saints row series fans with this horrible game and its uber **** add ons. do NOT and i mean DO NOT buy this add on!
SummaryA genius in entertainment and mayhem, the man-cat Professor Genki has put together the most watched game show event on TV, Genkibowl VII. But every game show needs a star contestant, and Professor Genki has chosen the leader of the Saints. With the Saints' reputation for excessive murder and carnage Steelport's own Zach and Bobby will gi...
