The more I play The Amazing Spider-Man 2, however, the more I'm viewing it as a superhero game that just happened to have come out at the same time as a movie wih the same name. Obviously, there's a little more corporate synergy at work than that, but it's a sign of this game's quality that it 100% stands up on its own.
It is still fun to swing around the city, and some portions really shine, but a full-fledged, full-price experience Amazing Spider-Man 2 is certainly not.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 isn't a complete disaster, and I can easily see fans of Spidey enjoying it at a deep discount. It's just a shame that Beenox somehow got worse at making Spider-Man games over time, and that the powers that be insist on rushing them as movie tie-ins. Somehow, someway -- we will get our Arkham of Spider-Man games again. Until then, you can just pick up a used copy of 2004's Spider-Man 2.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is an entertaining but flawed experience.
Beenox has aced the web swinging, but the controls are unreliable and
the camera work is horrific at times. It’s apparent that the game was
rushed to be released at the same time as the movie.
Average at its best.
It may look like just another sloppy licensed game, but beneath the surface squirms a dissonant yet introspective deconstruction of the genre (probably).
Developer Beenox showed in the past, with Shattered Dimensions, that it not only has fresh ideas for Spidey but the development chops to create a polished and impressive game built around the character. There's none of that inspiration or attention to detail here.
This game is very good,I also like the kind of the game but the graphics are not excellent!If you are fan of Spider-Man I am sure you will like it!I also disagree with the Metascore Critic,I think it worth something else

Not the best Spider-Man game out there but for the time it was released it’s decent. It’s hard to not have fun swinging around as Spider-Man! The gameplay is very outdated of course and the voice acting is horrendous but it was all we really had at the time before Insomniacs Spider-Man series .

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stays true to its roots of Andrew Garfield Spidey. This can be seen with the sudden return of Green Goblin and Electro... And the mention of Gwen Stacy (despite not being shown). It is hard to understand whether this is a continuation of the film or another universe due to this. But back to the game. First, it needs to be understood that the was made to fit the schedule, which meant it had to be made first. But with that comes the cost of an almost poor storyline and plot. The problem with the storyline of this game follows the same problem the film had. Too many villains! it would've been better had the game been after one villain and was longer without introducing too many different plots. But this game isn't at all "Bad". It has amazing web-swinging. shooting and stays quite consistently when fighting villains (which can be repetitive at times). There are a few side missions which could've been better done with more voice-overs. Nonetheless, this game is good the first time around but won't have you playing week after week wondering what size mission you have to do. But it will keep you entertained while being played.

While playing this game, I wondered how it was possible to create and release a product so simply bad. The previous part of this series was much better, which is why the state of this game is so incomprehensible. Pity!

The game suffers from a lackluster story and unengaging gameplay mechanics, failing to bring anything new to the table. The repetitive missions, uninspired combat system, and uninspiring side activities make for a dull and unremarkable experience. The game's flaws are evident in its poor execution, with technical issues, clunky controls, and an overall lack of polish. It's safe to say that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a disappointing entry in the franchise and falls far below expectations, offering little to redeem itself.
