Crash Bandicoot arrives spinning and jumping in a new release that solidifies even more the great work that Toys for Bob has been doing with its resmasters. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's about time could easily be on the podium of the best of Crash.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is an incredible return from a beloved franchise that hadn't had a new game for a decade. It takes everything that made the original trilogy great and expands it in a way we only think it could surpass... Naughty Dog itself.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is a reminder of how good platformers can be when in the right hands. Taking you through several diverse dimensions with their own unique challenges, Crash Bandicoot 4 combines responsive controls and a gorgeous art style to create an exciting adventure. Do I remember the story? Not too much, but the gameplay is where Crash shines. A new Modern mode in addition to its Retro mode makes it even more accessible for everyone.

Activision and Toys for Bob successfully manage to deliver a proper and direct sequel to Crash's original trilogy, doing justice to the franchise's classical gameplay formula but also adding more gameplay variety and lots of content. A game to play, both for nostalgic players and new platforming enthusiasts.

Even more so than playing the N.Sane Trilogy, which literally remade the original Crash games from my youth, playing Crash 4 felt like getting back in touch with the series. It's an injection of new ideas into now-classic gameplay that surprises and delights, even as it feels like a homecoming. Truly, games like this are why we come running back to long-dormant franchises with open arms.

There’s a lot holding Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time back from being the leading platforming experience it could be. Its lack of accessibility is a real issue, and it’s still plagued with problems that existed in the original Crash games, like awkward camera angles and imprecise jumping. But it is a beautiful-looking game, and fans of the series will undoubtedly get a serious kick out of being back in control of Crash – even if they will need god-like patience for some of the game’s more trying sections. Its extra content is a let-down though, and the full RRP for a game that most players will be done with in around eight hours leaves a big question mark over whether Crash Bandicoot 4 is a worthwhile purchase.

Expand

Easily the best crash bandicoot game I have ever played. The visuals and art style are amazing, it had some of the best graphics in any crashEasily the best crash bandicoot game I have ever played. The visuals and art style are amazing, it had some of the best graphics in any crash bandicoot game, the level design is top notch with some of the most creative and varied levels in any platforming game, the gameplay is superb the controls are very tight, almost every level have unique characteristics and enemies with cleverly designed platforming sections and the quantum masks are extremely fun to utilize with epic and awesome boss battle and I enjoyed the other playable characters and the soundtrack is very catchy, I enjoyed the story it had fun characters and the cutscenes are fun to watch with great dialogues. However can't give it a 10/10  because of the loading times and other few nitpicks, getting the box gem can be a fun challenge but some of the levels have boxes hidden of screen so you will miss boxes a lot and it's a cheap way to force you replaying the levels and wait for a long loading times, but collecting boxes is not the only side stuff you can do, you have time trials of course and the no death gem and the perfect relics, and the perfect relics are ridiculous the levels are too long and difficult so beating them while breaking every box and not dying just don't work it's not fun it's just tedious because you have to wait around half minute every time you replay the levels, a solution for this is just remove the loading screen and the completion will be more than fine and manageable, the inverted mode is cool but I don't know why you have to collect six gems in every level again, the flashback tapes are the only great side content it'll give you new levels and extra dialogues, those things are optional so don't bother doing them if you are not interested, playing the game casually and just going from level to level and enjoying the level design until you beat the story it's one of the best platforming games ever made Expand

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's about Time is the long.... looooong awaited official fourth installation of the 2.5D Action Platforming Adventures ofCrash Bandicoot 4: It's about Time is the long.... looooong awaited official fourth installation of the 2.5D Action Platforming Adventures of Crash Bandicoot and friends. The sound, The look, The feel! And it's not a one off, spin-off of the series! Toys For Bob managed to pick up and Re-Boot Naughty Dog's original trilogy that concluded in 1998, while at the same time continuing the original story! I don't even know where to start. The games hub is an over-world map, more like the first game, than the Hubs in the two sequels. The map is just as alive as the game, and all the tiny details, and guessing at what may lie hidden in the obvious gaps kept me staring at this screen for likely more time than was ever intended. The levels are just as amazing. Revisiting this world (and it's neighboring Dimensions or timelines... it wasn't 100% clear on that) with the new graphics abilities of modern consoles was mind blowing! Toys for Bob managed to utilize all of Crashs' original move set, double jump, spinning, and the ground slam, What i didn't expect was for them to force me to hone these abilities. They also blended brand new powers into the game, and did it so well I had to think hard to remember they weren't in the other titles. Fans and New Players alike will love this title, and platforming fans, will be given a run for their money! Expand

Toys for Bob pretty much sold me on this game after having played Spyro and seeing how well they treated such an iconic and beloved game series. Crash 4 still is as hard as I remember but its all down to the level designs and mechanics this time rather than the archaic hardware failing you. Even someone terrible at platformers like me can enjoy the game and keep coming back for more with the endless amount of fun gameplay and countless collectables.

Terrible game design. Having to grab every crate in a level for a skin on top of other conditions is just frustrating
