Devil May Cry 2 remains an uninspired title, but Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 3 are masterpieces to this day. While people who've played these games a thousand times may find nothing new, everyone will find titles worth their time. These games are classics, and for the most part they still hold up today.

Solid collection with three classics, all of which still pack a punch. I would have expected more than a mere resolution upgrade to 1080p, though.

It is nice to have these three games to complete the entire DMC anthology on my shiny new console. I enjoyed revisiting all three games as they are definitely memorable parts of my past. For $30 it is hard not to recommend for those with fondness and want to revisit them. For newcomers I can see plenty of people wondering why these games are so cherished among the community.

If Capcom wanted to use this re-release as a way to drum-up interest in a new Devil May Cry game then I feel they've gone about it the wrong way, as there's nothing here that's going to expand the series' player base. But, for those who simply want to play the games and rekindle memories of times gone by, the Devil May Cry HD Collection may just suffice.

If you’ve never played a Devil May Cry game, then you really have no excuse with its availability on the last three console generations. If you already have this collection, then there is nothing new in this version – it’s got the same great gameplay, just now with a squeaky clean 1080p and 60fps.

Despite the dated visuals and camera issues, the gameplay remains as fun, as fast paced, and as addictive as it was over a decade ago. However, the lack of anything new in this collection may leave many of you wanting for more. The content alone is worth the asking price, but time and minimal effort certainly hasn’t done Dante any favors.

It always feels great to be able to play enhanced versions of good old titles on new consoles; but in Devil May Cry's case, there's not enough to get excited about, as visuals are dated and old issues are still there. If you are not a fan of the series, you should probably ignore this one.

No meu caso, saudosismo!

    O VEREDITO

Devil May Cry HD Collection does a good job of bringing some nostalgia back to you, but the shortcomings it has unfortunately stop it from being a very good remaster. Shortcomings aside the gameplay feels as good as ever and in my opinion it felt more fluid than in the original games and without a doubt that made it even more addictive than it already was. The controls that are present in the game feel great and they definitely enhance the gameplay somewhat because they remain tight and responsive throughout. Unfortunately in terms of improvements that’s where it ends and I must admit that I was expecting a few more improvements because as it stands at the moment you can’t really consider Devil May Cry HD Collection a true remaster, which is a shame. They also haven’t sorted out the problems that dogged the series back in the day and once again you have to deal with an awful camera. Without a doubt the camera that’s in this game is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced and to say you will have some frustrating moments with it would be a massive understatement. In my opinion these problems should not exist in a remaster and I definitely think these problems will put people off from purchasing it again. In terms of content the game has a huge amount for you to be getting on with, so the replay value is extremely high here. Thankfully most of the content that’s here is pretty good and when you get into the combat side of things you end up having a really enjoyable time because there’s variety all around you. Considering this is a remaster I definitely expected improvements in the presentation side of the game, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Visually the game still looks dated and nothing much really stands out, and the same can also be said about the sound design, which is a shame. At the end of the day Devil May Cry HD Collection is not a bad game by any means I just wish they did more with it. Don’t get me wrong fans of the series will find a lot that satisfies them here, but if you’ve never played Devil May Cry before I don’t think this game will give you any serious urges to try it out. That being said it does just enough to get a small recommendation from me because it’s priced well considering the amount of content you get. Expand
