An unexpected meeting offers Rodrik a new opportunity to free Ironrath from its Whitehill stranglehold, but with young Ryon Forrester still imprisoned, his next moves are critical. Gared must abandon Castle Black and venture beyond the Wall in search of the mysterious North Grove, risking encounters with Wildlings and worse. In King's Landing, the population is reeling from a recent royal death, and Mira must step carefully in an increasingly complex game of politics where secrets are traded as currency. Far away in Essos, Asher infiltrates the slave city of Meereen at the behest of Daenerys Targaryen, but will the friendship he holds dear break under the strain of a mission that raises memories best forgotten? We haven’t had a lot of opportunities to cheer the Forrester gang on, but this episode certainly gives you a number of moments to do just that.

One of it’s most enjoyable episodes, with some of the best action and choices to date.

"Sons of Winter" moves the plot of Telltale's Game of Thrones a steady clip, and there were some memorable moments throughout.

Unlike previous episodes, Sons of Winter shows the good guys making progress. This feat will likely be short-lived in the end, but we have a little while to enjoy the feeling of “maybe there’s a chance.” Odds are episode five will rain fire and blood over the Forresters yet again.

Game of Thrones' fourth episode is a solid Telltale affair but just that. While the developer continues to churn out quality content using George R. R. Martin's famed license, it does so while struggling to maintain great pacing.

Sons of Winter is fine, but it never feels like a standout episode.

Often entertaining but occasionally a bit of a slog. [Aug 2015, p.90]

It was extremely laggy and stuttery....it also felt disconnected as if it was rushed and not an even flow....maybe transitions between the stories would have helped but it just felt off compared to the others. Hopefully I was an isolated incident with the bugginess....at times it was almost unplayable. Still enjoyed it...and finished it...but was not as enjoyable. Expand

The game had Royland as sentinel when I picked Duncan. Also, the game told me Rodrik lost the betrothal to Elena when I actually did secure it in Episode 2. There were also several small decisions that were changed. This company prides itself on giving the player their own unique story. This means nothing when the game callously rips that story away from you. No, I did not lose my save. Totally inexcusable. Expand
