    It is the worst rugby game I've ever played. I've played them all since Jonah Lomu Rugby on the PS1 and whilst there has been some stinkersIt is the worst rugby game I've ever played. I've played them all since Jonah Lomu Rugby on the PS1 and whilst there has been some stinkers in that time, this one absolutely takes the biscuit.

    It appears to have been made by a group of people who have never seen a game of rugby. It's like they've based the whole game on a description of rugby they've heard somewhere. I don't even know where to start with telling you how bad this game is. The graphics are horrendous, they look like something you'd see on the original Xbox, not something nice and shiny like you'd expect on a next gen console. The menu system is bland and uninspiring and there's no tutorial that I could find which means you spend the first few games not entirely sure what's going on. This doesn't cause you a problem though as the AI is so mentally deficient that you can run rings around them anyway.

    There seems to be no concept of the rules being followed, you get penalised at seemingly random points in rucks and mauls and there's also no offsides as several times the opposition player took an interception from behind the ball. The first time you just sort of complain and by the fourth or fifth time you just resign yourself to it.

    The commentary is insipid and adds nothing to the experience, they very rarely use names and it often seems to be the wrong one when they do and after less than one match the same hackneyed phrases are already being trotted out. it's like commentary from a FIFA game from 10 years ago. I appreciate that as a rugby game it has nowhere near the development budget of EA with FIFA or NHL etc etc, but if this is the best they could do then I really wouldn't have bothered.

    The only saving grace is that I didn't actually buy the game - I rented it from Boomerang and I still only played two or three games before removing it from the disc drive in disgust. I've got better things to waste my time on. Seriously, don't buy this game even if you're curious to see how bad it is, just accept that other people have wasted their time playing it and as a result saved yours to allow you to play something better.

    You have been warned, don't come crying to me if you're tempted :)    … Expand
