    The Evil Within 2 is good old-fashioned survival horror with a little bit of an open-world bent, and it works beautifully. It’s tense, it’s scary, it’s exciting, it’s absorbing – it’s everything I hoped it would be and more.

    Be prepared for some slightly clunky movement and somewhat repetitive walking simulator sections. Past that, it’s a wonderful sequel to a game that was originally sort of a miss, rather than a hit. You’ll become just as invested as Sebastian is when trying to find his daughter and walk away from the experience feeling like you got your money’s worth. The Evil Within 2 is well worth the purchase, but especially (for) those who enjoyed the first game and want something more.

    The Evil Within 2 is a terror title that offers many more possibilities than its predecessor. It's survival horror in its pure state, and it's very well-implemented.

    The Evil Within 2 gives you more options to play your way in a much bigger survival-horror playground than the original. Although a disjointed plot and weak protagonist make it slow to get started, being pursued through an intriguingly bizarre world by plentiful and disturbing monsters kept my palms sweaty and my heart in my throat thanks to a strict adherence to the most important survival horror rule: you should always be on the back foot.

    Technically speaking The Evil Within 2 is a lot better than its predecessor. The game is a lot more accessible for a greater audience, without forgetting about the die hard fans.

    The Evil Within 2 is just like its predecessor: a mixed bag. While it had the potential to be something absolutely brilliant, Tango Gameworks has attempted to both cram too much in and offer too little at the same time.

    I'm lazy, it's takes a lot for me to take the time to come on here and write a review, I played the first game so I'm used to the controls, II'm lazy, it's takes a lot for me to take the time to come on here and write a review, I played the first game so I'm used to the controls, I was blown away by the ending, one of the best I've played in awhile, loved the way they brought some of the old bosses from the first game into this one. I had a lot of fun playing this game, it's worth your time, also play it on Nightmare… Expand

I gave it a 10 because, while yes it had faults, I enjoyed the heck out it and isn't that what it's about? For the same reasons, I give Evil Within 2 a 10. I literally spent over 40 hours in 1 play though, going through every nook and cranny to uncover secrets, craft materials and more. There were moments with the "Anima" ghost lady that literally scared me, whether in a tight, small room or out in the open streets. Loved the monsters and found the story intriguing. I really hope this game sold well and they will make Evil Within 3. I'd pre-order it for sure! Love this series... Keep 'em coming!… Expand

The Evil Within was memorable for its tough gameplay and great horror elements, but received criticism mainly for its confusing story and failure to make us care about Sebastian. The Evil Within 2 shines thanks to amazing combat mechanics, enemy variety, and resource management where every bullet mattered. The story, although still tropey at times, does a much better job of offering a goal to aim toward while making Sebastian more intriguing as a protagonist. All in all, it's a great game if you're a fan of challenging 3rd person shooters and love scary, atmospheric worlds to explore.… Expand

The scares, the visual design, music, atmosphere, gunplay, survival aspects are all top notch. That said, moving to a Dishonored like hub world kind of kills the pacing, which is crucial to a horror game. I spent 4 hours in chapter three just doing map markers, which can be great for some games, but not so much for this.

    Performance-wise, it's pretty solid but it does stutter a bit after starting up.    … Expand
