Dec 6, 2021A heartfelt tribute and a good sequel to Beneath a Steel Sky, Beyond a Steel Sky is an interesting adventure for traditional fans and newcomers, thanks to its peculiar vision of cyberpunk and the new hacking system that adds an interesting layer to the classic puzzle solving.
-
Dec 29, 2021Beyond a Steel Sky is a 3D graphic adventure that maintains the essence of its 1994 original, Beneath a Steel Sky. The best thing about the game is its story, a dystopian society with social criticisms that we could apply to our real life.

Jan 18, 2022Even without playing the predecessor of Beyond, I found myself engaged in the story and am interested in going back and finding the first one now. I think that’s a good sign for a game. While I’m not sure if it was worth the 27 year wait for the sequel, as I hadn’t played the first, it’s easy to recommend this game if you are interested in a laid back story driven game with puzzles. I enjoyed the narrative, and even with a few minor graphical bugs, I thought it looked and played great on the Series X.

Dec 9, 2021Faithful to its predecessor, Beyond a Steel Sky is a success on consoles. Taking advantage of the 4K resolution and fully dubbed dialogues, this version puts the player in an armchair. More stable and comfortable, the adventure turns out to be pleasant thanks to the impactful writing, colorful characters and a city more surprising than ever. The lack of life is however glaring and may hamper those looking for a spectacular setting.
-
Dec 6, 2021Beyond a Steel Sky verges on the impressive. However, the puzzles can occasionally feel over-complicated at times and there are moments where the game does get a bit saggy narrative-wise; especially in the middle section. But the new 3D world, the great visuals, and the new hacking mechanics certainly make up for some of the negatives.
