My overall opinion is really just asking myself why I didn't play the MLB The Show franchise more throughout the years. I can only imagine what kind of difference has been made with each iteration. This year for sure has made me a new fan, and I plan to continue to check out the franchise as the years go on. I found I want to log in every day to see what new cards I was getting and to see if I could improve my skills more and more, and they have. I will definitely play this homerun more throughout the year.

Thanks to its advanced features in gameplay as well as performance, MLB The Show 22 results in an accurate, addictive and engaging title on most fronts.

With an even better production than before, and an excellent new duo of announcers, MLB the Show 22 is more realist than ever before - there's no weariness here. Still wishing for a french version though.

MLB The Show 22 is a very impressive baseball game. Although it doesn't reinvent the wheel with this year's entry, the game is extremely enjoyable and the wider accessibility of platforms will no doubt mean that MLB The Show 22 will reach plenty of baseball fans.

MLB The Show 22 continues to improve in small, key ways, and with major changes to some of the biggest modes in the game, it's another great entry in the series.

MLB The Show 22 is a finely-tuned baseball simulator that offers a nice range of options depending on your patience but is possessed of a nearly insurmountable difficulty curve for beginning players, especially those who are either uninvested in the sport, more accustomed to simpler arcade-style baseball games, or even fans of other popular sports simulators that require less pinpoint accuracy to succeed in. Fortunately, if you’re determined enough to learn to play the game, there are endless pitches to swing at and new games to start over as you fine-tune your button-pressing timing.

It's also starting to go down the same road that every sports video game franchise is taking currently. So few tweaks from last year's game. They're starting to all feel the exact same, but again, this one isn't as good as the last game. Expand

It is free on Gamepass, which makes it worth a download if you've got the subscription. However, you might want to pass on the game this year if you don't have Gamepass. You're going to find an experience that feels almost identical to that of MLB The Show 21. The gameplay is usual quality, which is solid. All the existing game modes are still there, although they are feeling very stale at this point, specifically Road to the Show, which is starting to feel archaic relative to other career modes found in NBA 2K and even the NHL series in spite of the new two-way player option. Diamond Dynasty is better than other card collecting modes in that it's rather easy to build a great team without spending real world money, but the mode feels so old at this point and nothing has been new in quite some time other than new player licenses. Franchise mode is also practically unchanged from years past save for contract logic refinement. The big new feature is an all-new commentary crew, which has been demanded for some time now. However, the new crew was clearly not given enough to do, as their lines repeat so unbelievably often and the commentary is very surface level compared to what we had before, with very few player names being used and it sounding very choppy when it is the case. While this year's version of the Show plays just as well as any version before, unless you've got Gamepass, this year's game is probably worth skipping, as there's simply nothing truly worth upgrading for. SDS needs to think outside the box next year and develop some new modes and features to keep the game fresh for those who can't upgrade for free on Xbox. Expand

The game carried my 2021 so I was very excited to see what was in store for 22 and wow the level of disappointment I have for this game is immense. It’s like they copy and pasted 21 but smeared **** all over it. The new commentary seemed good at first after listening to Matty V all 21 which got very old and annoying but somehow the new commentators aren’t any better and don’t fit at all. Hitting is ass backwards most late and early hits are guaranteed singles when you can hit the ball perfectly with a player who has decently good power and it’s like you’re using a wet noodle. Lineouts are very ridiculous in this game and it’s embarrassing off pci very late hits for home runs how does that make any sense? 21 had lineouts but it was much more tolerable this game takes it to a whole new level of wtf am I playing rn. The new pinpoint pitching nerf is ok I guess? Wasn’t really needed that’s really the only thing gameplay wise that’s new and pci anchor with hitting which is basically pointless no one really cares about it. I was playing the game fine for a few weeks then randomly it wants to completely break and now my game is laggy and I can’t even use pinpoint anymore or hit. The PCI lags around and I’m on Xbox series X btw so yeah it’s poorly optimized on a 500 dollar next gen console I never had these issues with 21. I haven’t touched the game in weeks because of this and don’t plan on ever playing it again until there’s a patch for hitting even then idk if I’ll play it again. Very much riddled with bugs and glitches online and offline. I think because 21 performed and sold so well they decided to just not care at all this year and give their fans a pathetic excuse of a baseball game. If anyone actually reads this and you haven’t bought the game please don’t buy it your better off getting 21. Expand

This game is somehow worse then MLB 21
The "new" commentators are horrible and incredibly repetitive, cringe and liveless.
Literally the first match i played in RTTS it feels like i've heard every commentator line already twice in the same match. It also sounds like its from a mobile game and does not belong in a AAA game that you're being charged 70 bucks for.
The music in the menus is terrible that makes my ears bleed.
The only thing that was sort of an improvement was that they introduced a 2-way player archetype, but even that was done poorly.
I already hated the archetype system and they made it even worse with random passives that don't do anything unless you meet certain criteria in your match.
Random settings that are removed from previous titles that makes the gameplay non enjoyable
Game is also riddled with bugs and glitches
No upgrades for next gen besides fast loading
Terrible weather effects as if its ported from a gameboy
There is literally no reason to get nor play this game
I'm so glad that this game was available in gamepass on Xbox and didn't buy it
I feel bad for anyone who payed for this game
Hope this was helpfull in any way
Spend your hard earned money on something more worthy
