Visually, all three games have been retouched to look much sharper, while the audio remains standard fare: cool gun effects and hokey voices. [Mar 2004, p.63]
The thing that really brings this game to the point of being a great package is the fact of getting the very cool Pelican Silent Scope Light Rifle for the Xbox. The gun itself is a real treat and worth the bones alone because not only can you use it with Silent Scope Complete, but you can also break the rifle down into a regular gun and use it on basically any Xbox game that supports a light gun.
A welcome change from most lightgun games that stress "spray and pray" techniques because precision and skill are needed instead of mere blasting. [Apr 2004, p.82]
Silent Scope Complete would have been a wonderful package for fans of light gun games, only it’s let down by an intrinsically flawed calibration system.
It’s a shame the light gun support just plain sucks and certainly steals away much of the potential charm of this title, but at least the gamepad control is more than adequate to play and enjoy an otherwise simple yet challenging shooter.
Just watch out for that crazy difficulty spike that happens about halfway through each title - and don't forget the Visine. [March 2004, p.120]
While complete in packaging, still feels like a shallow product, as the energy of the arcade game still isn't accurately captured.
