Beautiful and challenging, Bokeh has a pristine look and chilling feel of its own that contributes enormously to the mood and tone of the whole film.
Only worthwhile storytellers could take an elevator pitch like this one (the last two people on Earth) and produce long-lasting curiosity about its inherent beauty and horror.

I've noticed in recent years, that Iceland seems to double up a lot as a faraway Sci-Fi location - it gives good planet. But here Iceland is just being Iceland, in all its desolate glory.
That works well, because it's a desolate sort of film. Not a lot of laughs in this one, especially the finale. So if you're looking for a fun Sci-Fi romp, this isn't the film for you. On the other hand, if you want a movie that's about the moment, the nitty-gritty of the characters and their situation, I'd recommend it. Lots of very nice cinematography, not a huge amount of dialogue. It's brief (90 mins), which is just as well, because toward the end I was sort of over Iceland's empty beauty, and I really just wanted something to happen. Then when something did happen, it wasn’t what I wanted. I guess there’s no pleasing some people (me).

There’s a lot of fantasy in the usual end-of-the-world scenarios, but there’s a lot of horror there as well. Bokeh asks which of those reactions is more appropriate, and how they both play out. It’s a gentle story, as apocalypses go, but even without monsters, it becomes a painful, emotional question of strength and survival.
The result is a “What if?” exercise that ultimately doesn’t take its starting premise to any place that’s terribly interesting. However, for at least as long as it appears to be heading somewhere, Bokeh holds attention with polish and resourcefulness on a limited budget.
The drama’s power may dwindle, yet its end-of-the-world scenario remains oddly recognizable.
Writer-directors Geoffrey Orthwein and Andrew Sullivan had a solid concept and a great setting, but not much else.
Because of this lack of dramatic momentum, the elements of Bokeh that do work best — the occasionally enrapturing cinematography, the dreamlike score, and the interesting-but-overused experiential editing — all wear thin halfway through.
Tries to be philosophical but it's so unconvincing that you will need true patience to finish it because the worst of all is not that the story fails because of its lack of attractiveness despite the interesting of its premise, the worst of all is that its characters are too insufferable and very uninteresting.

Doesn't have much going for it. Characters are uninteresting and have zero personality. The uses of filming locations in Iceland seems more like a checklist for tourist destinations (I could recreate every scene using the pictures I took on my phone). Acting was pretty spotty. Save time by looking at pictures of the Icelandic landscape yourself.
And despite having nothing resembling a plot, it manages to stick in sexist undertones of men being resourceful, level-headed survivors and women being overly emotional. So Bokeh has got that going for it, congrats.

Easily the worst film i've seen this year in regards to plot (There isnt really one). It looks beautiful though, shots are great but it doesnt go anywhere. If you are expecting to find out anything at the end, then dont bother.
