As a fantasy, Damsel convincingly transports us into the lair of a dragon that is often stunning and always intriguing.
What matters most is whether we believe Brown in the role, and the “Stranger Things” star has no trouble embodying the kind of quick-thinking independent mind it takes to survive such an adventure.

Very well made movie.I love movies about dragons.I thought the story was good,the presentation very well done caves on the mountain with the light elements and everything,only the dragon blew me away the most,I have never seen such a well made dragon except for Smaugh from "The Hobbit".Would love to see more movies like this with well made dragons. Also a series or multi-part movie series.

When there is no Prince to rescue the Damsel, then the Damsel must rescue herself. What would seem like a male bashing narrative, does not exist at all. It is the true narrative that women are strong and capable. The presence of a man though welcomed is not necessary in every situation. As a man i enjoyed the story, because of the authentic presence of strength in the midst of betrayal. Millie was excellent. It didnt take long to get where it needed to go and the ending is proper.

Has its heart in the right place but little else, starting out competently and then slowly falling apart with each clumsy step along its "Game of Thrones"-lite path.
Some of it plays, some of it doesn’t. Brown isn’t bad, although her character’s coming into her own is so preachy and self-empowering that it’s eye-rolling time.
Rather than embracing the more nuanced themes, the film shies away from deeper introspection.
A weak script and boring performances make the Netflix fantasy film Damsel a real slog, torpedoing its attempt to be a subversive spin on classic adventure tales. Any sense of wonder or magic is diluted by cheap-looking CGI and its overly repetitive action sequences.
Rather than being any particular person’s bright idea for a girlboss fantasy revenge caper, this lousy romp was obviously hatched by an algorithm, and might just as well have been directed by AI.
This teen oriented fantasy adventure was much grittier than I was expecting. Millie Bobby Brown is all growed up as a human sacrifice that is determined to survive rather than perpetuate the sins of a corrupt kingdom. A solid popcorn flic that is not shy with its female empowerment agenda.

Entertaining, with good production values, decent effects, some good performances and adequate direction. Somewhat hamstrung by a weak screenplay that are filled with unlikely incidents and tropes instead of characters. But if you go with the flow it’s an okay ride.

A movie that takes itself way too serious, and doesn't make me feel anything at all. The screenplay of the movie is incredibly dull and repetitive. Only Milly Bobby Brown's performance makes this movie just a litte better.
