Odom Jr. won the Tony for his performance here, a fact that’s been somewhat dwarfed over the years by Miranda’s tsunamic success, but the neat trick of this filmed version is to time-machine viewers back to an extraordinary moment in American cultural history – to put us, to borrow from Miranda, in the room where it happened. It feels like such a gift.

This filmed staging, which wouldn’t have “played” well on the big screen, is as rich with cinematic possibilities as it is musically. If millions find and love this version on the home screen, perhaps this “Hamilton” will encourage Disney to properly adapt it for the big screen down the road. I’d pay good money to see that.

Everything. It’s everything. It doesn’t praise these people, it exposes them (in a dramatized manner) and exposes their flaws. It’s a cry for us in the present to do more. To expect more out of ourselves and our leaders.

An absolute masterpiece of modern theatre. The combination of modern hip-hip and the story of founding father Alexander Hamilton is a unique and amazing experience, and is sure to leave tears in your eyes.

Amazing, excellent, and all the synonyms from the thesaurus. Finally it came out in beautiful 4k resolution, letting us appreciate the Broadway cast in their full glory. A must watch.

Hamilton is by far one of the best musicals of the generation. It’s a broad new take on historical plays, combining elements of hip-hop with Jazz, R&B, and much more. It truly is a wonderfully crafted and thought out piece that shows much-needed unity in a time of such division. 10/10!

As a Brit, my knowledge of American history is spotty at best. This show managed to not only entertain me but also educate me on one of the founding fathers. Well worth a watch if you can spare the nearly 3 hour run time.
