When Hellboy does succeed, it is glorious. Harbour and Jovovich understand this kind of inflated supernatural action, and when it's just them inhabiting the line between two worlds (such as Hellboy's trip to face the child-eating Russian witch, Baba Yaga), or when the narrative is given time to breathe, there's a sense of the movie this could and should have been. Just because Del Toro isnt directing and Hellboy isnt Perlman doesnt mean this film should be getting slammed unfairly the way it is. it's a new vision and adaptation that actually works even better as far as following comic source material. This is very underrated. Beautiful photography, seamless cgi, good performances, excellent audio and editing. Also much closer to the comic than the Del Toro versions (also excellent, but more Del Toro than Hellboy). Gory and through most of the movie, conflicted about his destiny.This is very underrated. I quite liked it. Nowhere near as bad as it was made out to be. Special effects weren't great but a fun watch if you fancy something with lots of action and doesn't take itself too seriously.

There isn't much to say. Everything bad about this Movie already got told. Compared to Del Toros Hellboy Movie this is a Bad Joke. I liked the Humor and the gore but even that felled forced at Times. Really not quite sure what to think of it. A lot of action, but the story is somehow senseless or dull. I don't know, but watching it, was just boring..nothing compared to the old hellboy movies.
