Less than a home run, then, Intruders is still an efficiently engineered suspenser, with solid performances and a tight pace.
The result is a promising film that leaves a bad taste in your mouth, like a meal well-presented on the plate that just doesn’t fill you up.

While the screenplay by T.J. Cimfel and David White eventually proves unsatisfying in its plot revelations, the film certainly holds your attention thanks to Schindler's tautly paced direction and Riegraf's emotionally nuanced performance.
The actors alone can't sustain Intruders for its full 90 minutes, but for the most part they follow Starr's lead, carrying a film that's both menacing and magnetic.
Intruders ultimately comes across like basic-cable schlock (or is it Netflix schlock now?), slightly redeemed by the germ of a great idea, even if said idea never truly germinates.
The film ultimately boils down to people bludgeoning one another in unimaginative close-ups.
Ms. Riesgraf, who at times recalls the young Teri Garr, is gutsy and committed, but not even Meryl Streep could make this hokum credible.
The robbers are all stereotypical and the movie is not that original.Only the twist make the movie really **** way the movie is made, you end up rooting more for the robbers than the **** acting was pretty good and the movie was entertaining.Overall, it's just another home invasion movie with a little twist.

I liked this movie, but unfortunately it has a lot of flaws. Any movie that has the main character turning the tables on their foe can suffer from "Who is the good guy" syndrome. It has to be a balance that keeps us rooting for the good guy (This was well done in You're Next). It couldn't decide if she was the victim or the monster and kept switching back and forth in an instant. More entertaining than a lot of stock horror films, but still lost me a bit.

Good acting is let down by underdeveloped characters, lack of tension throughout, poor pacing, and the obvious spoon-feeding of plot points, makes what should of been a mysterious and intriguing film, boil down to just individuals being unimaginatively bludgeoned to death. Relatively interesting due to the premise, but this only makes what could of been so great, feel like such a dissapointment.
