Lottery Ticket gets far on the strength of its star's charisma and a likeable tone.
If Lottery Ticket had as much conviction as laughs, it could have hit the jackpot.

All the years we have this type of movies, a normal situation can be a disaster (Madea, Big Momma's, Think Like a Man, etc...) but this type of movies are funny, and Lottery Ticket have much funny elements, th cast is good, the story is normal, but with a funny development. This movie can not be perfect, but is funny.

The theme of this formulaic but vibrant ensemble comedy could best be described as a paraphrase of Biggie's well-worn credo: Mo' money, mo' problems-but mo' money, yeah, definitely.
Entertaining, if highly predictable, escapist ensemble comedy.
The script is never nearly as clever as the premise ought to allow, and the madcap fun is far too frequently derailed by tonal inconsistencies.
Ice Cube's well-worn performance as a wise old geezer is the only bright spot in a movie that otherwise fumbles every opportunity to be funny, exciting or insightful.
Lottery Ticket may have been perceived as your typical Black comedy film, but unfortunately this is false. This film is actually a solid comedy, which has doses of ethnic humor, but overall is a comedy that all audiences would enjoy. It's a slapstick comedy if you will, and there are unpredictable moments within this film that would make you laugh out aloud. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a slapstick comedy, but already seen the Other Guys.

So easy to predict this whole movie. Good family movie. This movie should be PG.This movie wasn't funny. I cant re call a time that i laugh doing this movie. I didn't really expect this movie to be good anyways. Bow wow havnt made a really good movie yet. This is a good movie for my grandma to watch maybe she would like it better.

There is a message in here somewhere but the audience just struggles to find it underneath all the cliche script and tiresome stereotypes. The idea that someone in the projects is going to win a ticket and not get killed for it is impeccable. Either way, Lottery Ticket does show that money won't make you happy if the people around you aren't. I guess that's the message. But with very little to go on, Lottery Ticket find itself in the middle of nowhere at the end of the film.
