What makes it worth the time investment for kids is that it's really about introducing the street-smart long-haired Dachshund Liberty (Martin) into the team, while giving a little drama to Chase's life as he processes some old trauma about being a stray in the big city. Before the movie came along, the show had an ardent critic in Liam Kennedy, a criminology professor who believes “PAW Patrol” “encourages complicity in a global capitalist system that produces inequalities and causes environmental harms.” While it’s doubtful the humorless dirge of a movie will make enough of an impression to mold young minds in any lasting way, the critique of “PAW Patrol” is useful as an amalgamation of certain favorite Hollywood themes that ought to be retired. My 5 year old son likes the show so I knew what I was getting into. Better than expected and it was only 1hr 15 min-ish. Entertaining and kids love it. Imo, Much better than Raya or Space Jam. Just a cringefull movie. This cannot be compared to SpongeBob. THAT is better than this garbage.
