At 90 or so minutes, Prey is a lean, mean machine without an ounce of fat on its muscular body. It’s a reminder that this land was populated long before we, the original predators, overtook it, a subtle treatise of “man as predator,” but mostly, a vicious, wildly entertaining flick that’s bound to become the new classic in the series. There’s enough carnage and violent action on display to satisfy Predator fans whose cinematic bloodlust knows no bounds, and the dramatic change in milieu provides some much-needed freshness. Best action movie of the year and easily the best Predator movie since the original and in a lot of ways it surpasses the original. The cast was exceptional and the directing by Dan Trachtenberg was top notch. Between this and 10 Cloverfield Land I think that Trachtenberg is the best youngBest action movie of the year and easily the best Predator movie since the original and in a lot of ways it surpasses the original. The cast was exceptional and the directing by Dan Trachtenberg was top notch. Between this and 10 Cloverfield Land I think that Trachtenberg is the best young director in Hollywood now. From the lack of SUPER advance technology due to the timeline to the very unique take on the 1700-1800s, it really is a good movie. The predator was very unique and brutal, as is needed, and the main character although sometimes a little bland was still pretty well wrote.… Expand

Друзья традиционалисты ,вы разозлитесь но я всё таки скажу. Я очень рад что тут главный герой это молодая женщина . Во первых 1) Я люблю молодых ,худых, спортивных женщин . Во вторых 2) Когда неприятель вторгался в родные земли (вспомните уроки истории и Батыя ) зачастую уничтожались вообщеДрузья традиционалисты ,вы разозлитесь но я всё таки скажу. И кто в таком случае мог подобрать оружие и нанести урон неприятелю ? Ответа только два , либо никто ,либо женщины . В качестве примера на ум приходит Вера Засулич , убила "хищника" и выжила. В третьих 3) Стимулирующий пример . Когда Шварцнейгер победил монстра в 1987 , это чемпион , альфа самец ,одни плюсы ,нет минусов . Как с таким конкурировать ? Если тебе попадётся "монстр " в реальной жизни ,сможешь ли ты загасить его как Шварцнейгер ? Мало шанцев . Но в фильме Добыча 2022 , мы видим что при удачном стечении обстоятельств( которые ты сам способен сформировать в некоторой мере) при должном упорстве и смелости , монстра способна победить и девчёнка . Что ты хуже девчёнки ? А ну вперёд на подвиги ! Там явно есть стимулирующий заряд для мальчиков и я думаю это хорошо .… Expand

I've seen worse, but this is not a great predator movie. I don't think the main character is quite a mary sue, but she's a borderline mary sue(it's close). There's plenty to enjoy here if you can suspend your disbelief enough to believe she can go toe to toe physically with a predator, evenI've seen worse, but this is not a great predator movie. There's a lot of plot armour as well, things falling right for the protagonist to get her into the position to trick the predator at the end. If you can look past all that, you might find some enjoyment here, but it would have flopped in theatres(it'll do well on streaming though). A 5/10 movie and no way as good as the classic arnie original.… Expand

I was waiting for the film with some hope, the first reviews from critics gave me confidence that the film would be at least good, but I was wrong. A hackneyed plot about growing up and overcoming oneself, which in this interpretation misses an important detail - you don't believe in the motivation of the characters, the viewer doesn't understand why they act this way and not otherwise. There is no background for personages or history in general, which is somewhat depressing. Because of such a discrepancy in the plot, it is hard to believe what is happening on the screen, a fantastic alien can only be imagined as a decoration, "prey" for the main character, which could be replaced by any other dangerous wild beast or alien creature. Everything looks somehow fake and unreal: the bad graphics are noticeable, the main character is too pretty for a formidable Indian warrior, the dialogues are stupid, and the predator plays the role of a whipping boy. It seems that the film was shot by teenagers for teenagers, the story is immature and replete with cliches. Who is the target audience of this picture? Bloodshed, violence and other horrors will simply scare away children for whom this plot will fit. Adults are not interested in this… Expand
