C’est l’un des derniers westerns avec John Wayne (il était temps, foutredieu !) mais pas le dernier non plus… (hélas !) et il y reste indéniablement fidèle à sa « légende », celle du cow-boy volontiers rustre et autoritaire, macho et vieux jeu mais aussi et surtout justicier et redresseur deC’est l’un des derniers westerns avec John Wayne (il était temps, foutredieu !) mais pas le dernier non plus… (hélas !) et il y reste indéniablement fidèle à sa « légende », celle du cow-boy volontiers rustre et autoritaire, macho et vieux jeu mais aussi et surtout justicier et redresseur de torts !

Rien qu’à le voir, on sent qu’on va manger chaud et les vilains le savent également : on va tous mourir d’ennui ! quel que soit le réalisateur aux commandes ou le pseudo-scénariste derrière la machine à écrire, une seule chose demeure, indéracinable et inamovible : on va se faire chier !

Cependant, dans ce Rio dodo, on s’endort moins vite que prévu et j’avoue que je somnolais à peine… pendant grosso merdo un petit premier quart ! jusqu’à ce qu’il ré-endosse sa tenue de cow-boy en fait, juste après son très habituel uniforme de Yankee, cela va sans dire. C’est la routine du western dodo qui reprend donc entièrement le dessus : le western superficiel, convenu, stéréotypé dans lequel les « comédiens » jouent comme au théâtre…

Un théâtre de débutants et de baltringues pour tout dire même s’il faut mentionner ici quelques nanas (il faut bien meubler…) particulièrement jolies (j’ai remarqué pendant l’avance rapide). Quoi qu’il en soit, rien de nouveau sous le soleil : ce n’est pas un film, c’est un « John Wayne » !… Expand
