Talk to Me is an aculmination of years worth viral content creation, mixed in with Australian storytelling. Together, it transformed a comedic short premise into something that gets your heart racing.
Although the movie’s energies dip slightly toward its end, when Mia’s plan to rid the world of the cursed hand requires superhuman acts of strength and derring-do, Talk to Me delivers a series of slash-and-burn shocks that last far longer than 90 seconds.

Talk to Me is uniformly one of the best horror movies I've ever seen. At every turn I was glued to my seat utterly enthralled by everything happening onscreen. Performances across the board are emotionally charged and gripping, the cinematography is inspired, and while arguably telegraphed at points in where the story is going, it never once detracted from my overall experience, and occasionally even built upon it. Thoroughly freaked the **** out of me once or twice, and when it wasn't being scary, it was so interesting I still couldn't look away. The fact that this is the feature debut of the Philippou brothers speaks highly of their talent, and I genuinely cannot wait for whatever they make next. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a strong dose of horror!

bit late to the party but wow, what an incredible horror movie. This is the first horror movie in a long time that made me feel uneasy, the tension and atmosphere is creepy throughout with also interesting characters and story beats that keep you gripped throughout this film. Also stellar performances from each and everyone one of the cast members, incredible directorial debut for the Philippou Twins.

Hardcore horror fans should expect less of a full-on festival of bloody carnage and more a new-school chiller in line with the first two films by Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar) or Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us). Regardless: for a top-ranking summer fright from Down Under, don’t miss Talk To Me.
Tense, stressful and savagely staged, this is a scarily good debut from YouTubers Danny and Michael Philippou. Be sure to hold someone’s hand while watching.
There’s nothing revolutionary about the premise of naive idiots attempting to get closer to death. (See: “Flatliners”). But it’s the ingenious combination of horror and human connection that makes Talk to Me, well, something to talk about.
The film is thematically a bit thin but doesn’t stint on genuine scares, intensity or revulsion.
Talk to Me is hardly a bad horror film, but the disconnect between what was and what could be looms large over the final act.
This movie has my love and adoration because of how unique the story was, it's a very intriguing movie that doesn't stick to the norm. I also find it heinously funny that teenagers would do this and basically figure a way to get high through it, the true ingenuity of bored teens. It's not perfect, but it is a great start to a franchise/series that holds a lot of promise. The acting is really what makes this movie so stellar.

The idea is amazing. How they managed to use that idea is also good. Yet the final is not, satisfying. I was hoping for more gruesome, horrifying acceleration. But it is worth to watch.
