For its slightness and silliness, its concerns are grander. Here, the undead ghouls represent nothing but the cold prospect of death itself. “This isn’t gonna end well,” Driver’s omniscient copper keeps intoning. And it never does.
The Dead Don’t Die is delivered in one long, deadpan note. Some of the sight gags and quips are gold; others are just filler, but still kind of interesting in a wacky sort of way.

Loved that so much! A very unique movie. Can't understand why critics and people gives to this film extremely low points

If Jarmusch’s latest often feels as though it lacks a pulse, this star-studded parable is held together by one consistent truth: When Hell is full, the dead will walk the Earth. And when the Earth is fucked, the living will do whatever they can to sleepwalk through the nightmare.
The movie doesn’t drag, but it’s a major drag all the same.
The Dead Don’t Die is better when it’s riffing on zombie heritage, or just being silly. But it’s best when Jarmusch is acknowledging, in that characteristically Jarmuschian way—half resigned, half jubilant — that the world of people, even with all their terrible flaws, is worth preserving
Jarmusch has opted for a stumbling dead so indulgently pleased with itself that it resembles little more than a precocious home movie filled with familiar faced pals all of whom find the joke funnier than any audience will.
I've read a few comments talking about how horrible it is lol and honestly it's not that bad for what it is. Dont go into this movie with high expectations, it's not a serious movie what so ever it's just something they did for the fun of it tbh. This movie isnt like zombie land or Shaun of the dead and it's not ment to be haha. Like people talking about "how do they come to terms that it is zombies right off the bat and nothing else" the reason so is because Adam Driver character Ronnie "Read the script" and Caleb Landry Jones Character Bobby "has seen a lot of zombie movies" lol. Like come on. Hell, the theme of the movie plays on the radio and Bill asks what is this song it sounds familiar?? Adam literally tells him the name of the song and that it's the theme for the movie... like come on lmao you should know not to take this movie seriously. All in all dont go into this expecting something big. I'd say it like a 5.5 or 6 out of 10, but its enjoyable at the score for me..

It seemed like they did all of the takes of the actors without zombies, and then did all of the takes of the zombies without the actors and then cut it all together to a somewhat coherent movie. The result is a somewhat funny, but quite boring zombie comedy. It has it's moments, but ultimately it falls flat compared to its counterparts.

I only gave such high score because it has great actors in it. The movie itself is quite dull and the story has nothing to it - it is very predictable, especially when you start to understand that they are just showing zombies killing everyone and literally nothing else to it. They kinda make jokes but in a weird way, seems like the movie is trying to make more of itself than it is. Like trying to get some weird cult status or smth. And Bill Murray is also there because for sure movie makers thought he was in Zombieland and was funny there so will attract viewers here too. It has great cast - like all actors are very good but makes we wonder why they agreed to participate in this crappy movie.
