By exploiting the raw physical power of the Indonesian martial art called silat and then emptying buckets and buckets of fake blood upon your cast for kicks, filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto has birthed a monster of a movie, as brutal as it is hypnotic.

The night comes for us totally makes up for not seeing the raid 3 and it’s FAR more insane than the raid series, trust me on this one, the fights are nastier, dirtier, bloodier, meaner, and more vicious, and the amount of gore in it is WAAAAAAAY past NC-17 lol.
I can only imagine how insane the sequels will be, especially since the war that ito started is not over

If you like ultra-violent, brutal combat (bones breaking, knives slashing, bloody organs and severed limbs) THE NIGHT COMES FOR US (Netflix) has the best fight scenes I've ever seen (and that's saying something). Each one is more over-the-top than the next! Forget the plot and ignore the subtitles, watch it to appreciate the high-body-count, spectacularly-staged battles.

Before its close, The Night Comes For Us stages a brutalizing and exhausting final fight for the ages.
It uses a thin plot touching on the classic Hong Kong action themes of brotherhood and loyalty as an excuse to string together a series of gonzo action set-pieces so ingeniously bloody that one could conceivably classify the film as horror.
This cartoonish cavalcade of carnage potently reunites “The Raid” stars Joe Taslim and Iko Uwais as former friends on a corpse-strewn collision course.
The Night Comes for Us is an alternately giddy and exhausting ordeal — a film that somehow manages to squeeze in way more plot than it needs, but not enough to make you care about who’s kicking who, let alone why.

I loved it, found myself a whole new genre of movies to watch and, my girlfriend loved it too!

The brutal action scenes and solid acting by the cast more than make up for the shortcomings of the story, Which features too many sub-plots that are barely explored before being quickly wrapped up. And the 2-hour runtime pushes your patience a bit but by the end of it all, It's time well spent.

With a meaningless story and some very violent but improvable action scenes, we have a film that gives what it promises and little else.

THE NIGHT COMES FOR US starts with promise but quickly falls apart. The plot is a mess, which wouldn't matter if the fight scenes were amazing, but they aren't - they're at best decent, and at worst tedious and overly cartoonish. Joe Taslim, Iko Uwais, and Julie Estelle wasted in this movie.

A gang member with the Indonesian Triad mob turns on his fellows to save a young girl from murder. Starts out promising, like the professional or The Man from Nowhere. Hard guy has tender thoughts towards youngster and goes on the Run to save her. From then on it is a Non-Stop slash stab Festival. And not in a good way. There are many many movies that do ultra violence better. More interesting, more meaningful and more nauseated. It seems like everyone involved is a non actor. Or an over actor. The violence is repetitive and silly and completely unoriginal. The entire cast needs acting and Kung Fu lessons.
