If you can get past the many bizarre inconsistencies, The Star is a relatively decent film for young Christian audiences. The writing, voice-acting and animation are unremarkable, but they get the job done, and the film’s heart seems to be in the right place. Read full review

The whole film pinballs between reverence and poop jokes in a way that feels far more blasphemous than anything Monty Python ever did, while a cloying R&B soundtrack further cheapens the tone. Unless you have tiny religious children, it’s probably best to avoid it. Read full review

Such a fantastic kids movie. My family and me loved it so much. The animals are so cute and spellbound me the whole movie. Comedy in it is fine and plot is good as well.

For those who might be looking for some stories at least based on Christianity itself, The Star is something for you to see. Otherwise, all together what it makes is a huge forgettable movie that never attempts to shine to victory compared to the other movies.

Nice enough story, but not believable. Good cast makes the dialogue sing, but again, just not a believable story in today's world. I like that Oprah is in it because she is so great and cool. I used to have an Oprah wig and I would wear it around the house and I'd hold a spatula like aNice enough story, but not believable. Absolutely horrible in every sense.
