Deborah Vance's stand-up tour starts May 12 with the Season 2 premiere on Hacks on HBO Max, and now you can hop aboard the company bus to see what that experience will be like in the full-length trailer for the season.

Deborah (Jean Smart) is joined on the tour by her writer Ava (Hannah Einbinder), who you might remember wrote a scathing email spilling all kinds of juicy secrets about her employer at the end of Season 1. So, needless to say, Ava is feeling the tension of her secret, especially in such close quarters as a tour bus, even a luxury one.

But it's not all bad, as the women find new ways to connect, including sharing a tender moment while Ava scatters her father's ashes.

"Honestly, I should have retired and gone out on top," Deborah says in the trailer, which you can watch below.

"Back in Vegas you were on top, but I think that was just a hill, and now you're climbing a mountain," Ava replies.

Managing the tour is Alice, aka Weed (Laurie Metcalf), and of course Deborah's assistant Damien (Mark Indelicato) is along for the ride as well.

As they travel the country so Deborah can "get back to basics" and workshop new material, she plays everything from small clubs to a cruise ship, and even ends up at a cage fight. And of course, the women will have to come to appreciate each other in new ways on that journey.

The show also stars Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Jane Adams, Christopher McDonald, Kaitlin Olson, Paul W. Downs, Poppy Liu, Rose Abdoo, Meg Stalter, Angela E. Gibbs, Luenell, Johnny Sibilly, Joe Mande, Ally Maki ,and Lorenza Izzo, with recurring guest stars Martha Kelly, Ming-Na Wen, and Susie Essman, and guest stars Margaret Cho and Devon Sawa.

Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky created the show and executive produce alongside Michael Schur, David Miner, and Morgan Sackett. The show hails from Universal Television and has a 82 Metascore for its Emmy-winning first season. (The Season 2 review embargo has not yet lifted.)

Season 2 of Hacks will drop its first two episodes on May 12, followed by two more episodes of its eight-episode season every Thursday up to and including the finale on June 2.
