Adele Mara
Biography: Born Adelaida Delgado, she broke into show business as a singer and dancer with Xavier Cugat's orchestra. Debuting in films in 1941, Mara played leads and "other woman"-type roles in scores of low-budget films. After marrying screenwriter and director Roy Huggins, she retired from the screen in the late '50s; in the '70s she appeared occasionally on TV in Huggins's productions.
