Rob Cohen

Biography: Rob Cohen was 24 years old and two years out of Harvard when he was appointed as the producer in charge of Motown Records' newly-formed film division. Cohen's earliest projects included the 1975 Diana Ross vehicle Mahogany and the picaresque baseball comedy The Bingo Long Travelling All-Stars and Motor Kings (1976). The latter film was directed by John Badham, with whom Cohen formed Badham-Cohen productions; Cohen later went on to act as the head of Keith Barish Productions. In 1980, Cohen launched a directorial career of his own with A Small Circle of Friends a romantic drama set at Harvard; subsequent efforts included Scandalous (1984), Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (1993), the Sylvester Stallone action thriller Daylight (1996), and the made-for-TV The Rat Pack (1998), which was nominated for multiple Emmys.
