While neither dialogue nor sitcom tropes could be called fresh, the pilot plays solid, relying on able actors to score under tight direction (James Widdoes).
The plots aren't strong.... Yet there are bright spots, mostly in the form of ol' George Wendt, as the shop's (gay) owner, and Lauren Lapkus, who bring some quirk to this stale comedy. [26 Jun 2015, p.55]

I love the pilot. , The cast is very mingled and I think it has potential. The entire cast is in tune and love of Danni and AJ will still yield good scenes, I'm sure of it. I need the next episodes.

SEASON 1
I really loved this series, reminds me a bit of "Friends." I thought they really got it right when choosing a hair salon as scenery. Super recommend !!! Watch you will not regret it.

Kohan and Mutchnick are skilled at twisting these TV tropes [unrequited love, unrealized dreams and friendly friction] into a world that feels comforting and friendly, if not completely new.
It breaks no new ground and offers viewers only another forgettable--if not unpleasant--half-hour of shtick.
All of the beats are overly familiar and the jokes are just as tired.
The Pilot is so much fun. So mature. The characters are very mingled and everyone has a different stereotype: tha bloonde one, tha black one, the **** one, the athlete, the catholic, all this makes the 20 minutes run and you yearn for more. Ashley Tisdale is stunning, amazing. She knows how to do and she does. The all cast is great. Positive point for Diana and George. Mike is handsome and uses this for the best. Lauren and Ryan are another amazing part of the cast and have and a high potential. Watch Clipped, it worth. Is amazing.

Pilot was okay, I like everybody except Ashley Tisdales character something about her I didn't like but I feel as if they could've found somebody else to take her place this would have been a bit better, the jokes are typical sitcom jokes some of them hit some of them don't, then you got the weird Boston ascents they can be a little overbearing. This show is taking the place the place of the sadly cancelled Sullivan and Son, I would have much rather been watching Sullivan and Son which is a great show than this which is a mediocre show, but hopefully it gets better.

Not terrible but it's still not the best. The plot is interesting and I think it has potential. The only things that would make the show better is to get rid of the guys' unnecessarily heavy Boston accents or at least make them more subtle, use fewer racist and **** jokes (not that they're offensive, some of them are unnecessary), and stop with the cliches

Not sure what the point of this show is, but it didn't work. This feels like something very retro -- a sitcom perhaps designed for a bygone era of TV. This certainly won't help the paltry TBS comedy slate. It lacks compelling characters and a compelling set up and story.

This show is cute but is completely hamstrung by the ironclad Politically Correct strangle hold paradigm firmly entrenched in the entertainment industry. The black character finds all white people annoying and unfunny. The black character lectures the white people. The black character is not to be challenged EXCEPT by the **** man. Yawn. Only skin color, sexual orientation, and political affiliation matters to Hollywood. Thus bland, formulaic, prescribed tripe rules. Too bad.
