I had no trouble watching nine hours of the new series at a sitting, except for the sitting. ... Because criminals dominate the action, the story seems not so much morally complex as unfocused, and because there are so many storylines competing for air, including one involving Jessie Buckley as a nurse with bad habits (and a Minnesota accent to honor the franchise), the show robs some promising characters of screen time. Fargo still creates an absorbing, cinematic viewing experience, with painterly framing, pointedly deployed split-screen and arcane yet evocative needle drops. ... With such a crowded plot, it’s no wonder the show can’t maintain a consistent tone. ... Earlier iterations of Fargo drew a lot of their power from a wide ensemble of curious people. Here, every introductory quirk is immediately annoying. ... It was good, not perfect but good after all. Not as bad as i expected after that reviews came out. Give it a chance.

Don’t be fazed by the negative reviews. This a classic and sticks true to the Fargo formula. Must watch for all day 1 Fargo fans

Five out of ten is way too harsh a score for a pretty good season four. It's the most contrived season but still very entertaining.

Doesn't even feel like Fargo. Also with the exception of Rock, the entire show seems poorly miscast. Some of the worst performances seen on the series in a long time are seen here from Salvatore Esposito and Karen Aldridge. The first two seasons were some of the best in television. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So many missed opportunities! Boring and strange story with few entertaining moments. I liked the nurses's storyline, but there were so many other scenes which will leave you unsatisfied. They makers seemed to be very interested in making this series about racism, but failed to deliver on any other parts. It is preachy at best and not worthy of the brand name "Fargo"

Fargo season 4 is not only complicated and hard to follow but it is extremely boring. The sound quality is atrocious. It sounds like a force 10 hurricane is outside in every scene. Season 1-3 are great and then comes the big disappointment that is Season 4. Season 4 deserves 0 points. This season is a big departure both in terms of story telling and acting from the previous seasons. The actress who plays the nurse is just annoying.
