The owner of an rundown apartment building is killed during a burglary and Harry Hooperman (an Inspector with San Francisco Police Dept.) inherits the building and her beloved (and nasty) dog Bijoux.

Bijoux is put on trial for attacking a mailman and will be destroyed unless Hooperman can prove he is a drug sniffing police dog.

After Smith breaks off their relationship, Hooperman is asked out by a television reporter. DeMott and Silardi agree to allow a famous actor ride with them. Stern is reluctant to take back her estranged husband.
